daver clasper
HiCan a copper strand starter cable be used for earth, instead to the usual braided one.Cheers, Dave
Nick Jones
Sure, why not?If using for engine- chassis just make sure it's got a decent loop in it or takes a reasonably long path so it doesn't fatigue too quickly as less flexible than the braided.Nick
daver clasper
Thanks NickI couldn't see why not, though bit careful of assumptions. In that case then can a length of the cheap jump lead cable be used also?.Cheers, Dave
Nick Jones
Don't see why not - so long as it's sufficiently chunky. Some cheap jump leads are a bit feeble. Also, how are you going to attach the ends? Some of the jump lead cable has multiple fine strands which is good for flexibility but makes it prone to shedding ends unless properly crimpedNick
Gt6s
I was actually contemplating making up battery / earth leads using proper crimp battery terminals, proper braid earth, all crimped lugs using superior 25mm welding cable for Triumphs. I have the hex crimper and can get the stuff easy. Also can be made specific spec to order. Is there a market ?Laurence
