berlingo40
Can anyone tell me if the pressure plate on a 1500 is the same as any of the lower cc model's, 1300 fwd/rwd. It will be mated to a 20 spline drive plate and midget box.
yogi
Do you mean 1500 FWD? In which case, no they're not the same as any other Triumph. The 1500 one is bigger diameter than the 1300 though they have the same spline pettern in the middle which is different to RWD cars.
berlingo40
Thank's Yog,just thought the 13/60 rwd might have been the same. The one i have just removed from the engine show's a groove that is much deeper on some "finger's"on the pressure plate and can't really understand why. That Man
1300 rwd cars have a 6.5" clutch with early ones having a 10 spline friction plate later cars use a 20 spline, the change over was the use of the single rail gearbox(?) in the later cars1500 rwd cars have a 7.25" clutch, I believe all use the 20 spline friction plate1300 fwd cars have a 6.5" clutch with a 9 spline friction plate (we like to be different ;) )1500 fwd cars have a 7.25" clutch again with the 9 splineRwd clutch covers can not be used on fwd unless you use a different (larger) thrust bearing 8) but fwd covers can be used on rwd if used with the correct (for the cover) friction plateI think that's right Gordon
