tg10002
Hi, I have purchased some of those replacement steering rack brackets made from aluminium. They are designed to give better relocation of the rack, compared to the std rubber & ubolt setup.. When I mount them, there is a clear 1cm gap between the rack 'end flange/bracket' & the ali bracket itself. Are they meant to just grab the outer rack without any lateral location, or perhaps I should redrill the mounting holes 1 cm wider each side ?Any words of wisdom from someone who has used these brackets before ?Thanks ... Nick Jones
Hi, Just looked at mine. I have approx 10mm gaps as you describe so I guess they just clamp onto the rack tube. Seems to work for me (they've been on at least 10 years!)
