Martins Stag
I have only had my car just a year and I have never seen any Alloy Cam covers for the Triumph V8. Do I assume as there is a limited number of engines it was never worth producing one? Or does someone know otherwise?Martin
esxefi
maybe due to clearance issues under the bonnet and it is not as simple a casting as the 4 and 6cyl types so cost prohibitive?
StagNL
^^^ What he said. Clearance more to do with the carb elbows and air filter. What would cast alloy cam covers be better at doing than the originals?Julian
RobPearce
Quoted from StagNL What would cast alloy cam covers be better at doing than the originals? Looking shiny. That's the main reason they exist for the OHV engines.
esxefi
probably but there is the added bonus of a better oil seal to the head and slight reduction in top end noise.
SteveJP
Top end noise? - on my Stag i'm lucky to hear the engine at all over the exhaust noise!
