  1. At the risk of being defensive ......I'll just say We didn't use a sat nav and loved every bit of it!
  2. To be fair Colin's suggestion would still enable us to do most of the main parts at the same times......but we would have to leave lands end and come back down the m3/m4 or something similar to make up the time. Don't like change......  :'(
  3. Personally I'm of the "if it ain't broke" camp, I for one loved the run this year and think it could even be my favourite. i know the m40/m25 causes problems but this will always be the case, moving the start would only change the whole basis of the run. Has it not always been a london start and finish?
  4. When I rebuilt my spitfire i fitted a new clutch master cylinder( looks exactly the same). It leaked from the cap when cornering, threw the cap away and fitted an old one,no problem since.
  5. I have to say Alan you've gone up in my estimation.....not hard you were very low ;D Top attitude and as you say it's what it's about. I hate hearing anybody has had to retire even people I don't know/like delete as appropriate  ;) Glad you and Bradley got Eric sorted in the end and made the finish you both deserved it after the last Rbrr. Everyone works so hard on this event, organisers, marshals and entrants alike. I say thank you to everybody no matter how small their part even Ellis.........
  6. We did the route from a couple of years ago......actually I think it was 2008. Still got held up on m40 but we'd made decent time getting there so wasn't too bad.
  7. Ted there's regularly a long delay on the A34 /M40 roundabout. I do see what your saying but I feel that could potentially be even worse. The evening I returned form gaydon after the drivers meet that queue was miles long! Alex
  8. mikew wrote: He would have driven all weekend (squashing badgers and foxes etc etc) and driven home given half a chance .. now thats hardcore  :) So pleased you both made it Mike but don't leave all your prep till 4 am next time  ;D So has the sprint curse been lifted or is it getting broken for spares   ;D
  9. Well done everyone, big thanks to everyone who gave up their time so we could go and play👏👏
  10. Dave rang me too......I wonder if he was trying to put me off  ......bet that was Tims idea  ;D
  11. timbancroft61 wrote:Alex, We are used to that though!! Spittie looks good though, even with those stripes! I guess I asked for that...... Seems to have been a better drivers meet for me this year....few little jobs to do but nothing like last time. Indicator relay, oil levels, fit stickers......
  12. If the weather is like 2012 you'll wish you'd used the stag if it's like 2010 you'd be glad you used the pi..... Not helping am I :-)
  13. pheaduk wrote:Re my plea for help in another area of forum, how do I contact Dave? If I don't get a driver today it's all off for this event, a great shame but I must have three drivers. I just text you the number I have for Dave..... Hopefully it's still in use!
  14. AlanChatterton wrote:I always do it as a 2, far more fun!! I did it as a 3 once, never again....... I got sooooooooooo bored!! 100% agree with Alan!
  15. Hi Ted, Sounds like a wise decision! I'm not sure if he's sorted a car out however Dave Kent did ask on here this week if anyone wanted an extra driver. He's not in your area but I'm sure Dave could meet you at the start? He's a top guy and has the benefit of knowing our cars and the Rbrr. Alex

M Um...... Sorry heavy night..... I had 170,170,165 and 100  compression. I gapped no.7 and got that up to 170 so I'm guessing it wasn't closing? Until I did this it wouldn't tickover when warm but actually performed really well. It's a mk3 grind 1500 cam so nothing special. Should the pushrods all rotate at tickover?

The cam was inspected before refitting as this issue was also apparent on the old bottom end(this is a rebuilt unit) the cam and followers haven't done that many miles as have only been fitted since just before last rbrr(only done 600 miles last year too).

I have an ongoing issue...... Number 7 rocker will not go quiet....ok not strictly true,I did have it lovely and quiet but then it caused low compression as the valve obviously wasn't closing  :B. Not sure what's going on,I've adjusted to .10,.09,.07 I think 06 made it quiet ;D The rocker face looks to be in nice condition no obvious marks etc. What do I do?
