  6. Not sure about the herald as I'm a spit man (one of the experts will be along soon) But what you could do if you are worried, take out two screws so that it can rotate a little to expose one of the threaded holes, then re fit the screw to hold the captive plate in place, remove the last screw and loosely fit the other screws to hold it. Re fit reverse of this! Cheers 🙂

  9. [quote=timbancroft61 Otherwise apart from window winders, the car is ready to go! You don't need them, just drive with the windows open! It's going to be glorious sunshine the whole route! 😉

Steel clip thingy's on the cross beam and shock towers. Then little special clips along the chassis sides. (Not sure of the correct names and numbers, but I'm sure my garage door crunching friend will be along to tell you!)  ;D

  16. Where's your safety goggles young man!!!  :P Was the camera on self timer mode or did you have a secret photographer! The engine is back together and all tightened, but we need to change the water pump housing, as the bolts have been changed (one is metric course and one AF! ) planning to place it in the chassis tomorrow evening.  :)

  20. I agree, make one! How far is your car stripped? When I did dirks spitfire (see mk2 restoration) I welded in a cross frame, a big 'X' that way it supports the tub, but allows you the room when you lean into the car for welding the sills, no banging your head on the bar! It is now fitted into the mk3 awaiting the sills to be chopped out!
