  1. The checkpoint Marshall has packed up and gone, but seeing us drive pass, he turned round and came to sign our book! Full of joy, move on three places to get back on track! Team Broom, triumph Renown.
  2. I feel old now you young man! 😀 I like the idea of photos, another thought, if you approach photographic schools. The students are more than willing to help, it's good for their portfolio especially as it's for charity, and they do a great job, and probably would only ask for food and drinks to keep them going. Perhaps it may mean that they would need ferrying to certain points.
  3. I see this for sqale on the bay of evil! And I do quite like those wheels, They are similar ish to the old lotus wheels, (but they are not them I'm sure) Does anyone know what they are for definite? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triu.....roject-/181957420327 Cheers
  4. That'll be the sausage roll! Happy it's back all safe and sound.
  5. I ordered some good weather for you next week Clive so you can get the spraying done! 😉 For us the list is getting longer! Ha ha
  6. Hey you, get your feet off the desk and go shout at some workers! 😀 We'll have to crack on with it when your next home, don't want to do another "week before the start 10 minute test run" (although the old girl made it round in style) This time I think we will need some big thick jackets or a nice warm blanket!
  7. Have you got or have access to a cement mixer? If so wrap the tank in a blanket to prevent damage, then secure it safely into the cement mixer, place some nuts, bolts etc into the tank to clean the crud off, and set it going, come back in 15 minutes, turn it round to do the other end then rinse it out and use the sealer! 🙂
  8. Team Broom! What have we got to do, well we have to first think what car to use, then change the engine, fix the brakes, sort the steering, Repair th...............................
  9. I know it's an old thread now, but just reading through some again and this made me laugh So how are you getting on, Did you do another race in a different car?
  10. It's always nice to read your exploits Nigel, and see the pictures. You will have to venture over here and do some, what about 'boucles de spa historic rally' if you do, give me a shout I will pop up and give you service support! (Done it before a few times before, when I was working for a chap building rally cars) Good luck with the Land Rover, (one of my other passions) hope to see this thread updated at some point. Good luck Regards Shaun
  11. Not had a chance to look yet, but this is the sort of thing. Various makers, but if you type into your search "stud extracting sockets" or something along those lines you should find them. Or as said above, some decent stilsons
  12. yes but then thezy may ruin it even more, or worse completely mess it and the sump up! i have a set of sockets at home, that have a grip pattern on the inside for just that purpose. as you turn the socket like you are undoing a bolt, the socket grips and undoes the bolt i will have a look to see what make they are! cheers shaun
  13. I have seen it in the flesh (Tr7 and the pick up) both are really nice. It will be really nice when it's done, keep up the good work! 😉
  14. Well done Tim, as said above, would have been a shame to celebrate with a new name! Cheers Shaun P.s. Check your pm! 🙂
  15. Our offer still stands! Have it recovered here, then come over and fix it up and drive it home (no garage fee's 😉 )
  16. Oh well, the next one! (Famous last words) Dirk has flu, his wife fractured her foot so is not very mobile and the car is not totally finished, and my mankini didn't arrive in the post! we gave it a go but was not able to finish, we have two years of testing ready for the next one (hey, miy car might even be ready by then) Sorry to hear about the ones retiring, but let me know if anyone still wants to drop cars off at my place. Good luck the rest.
  17. Unfortunately we are not rolling at all! A great shame, but for various reasons (car, illness, accident) we could not make it, we are both gutted but we wish everyone an enjoyable trip (he says very jeleous) 😉 If anyone does have the misfortune of breaking down and has to recover, send me a message and have your car recovered to my place, then repair or collect it at you leisure We are hoping to still come over to Rolduc (if dirk gets better, good luck matey) Have fun chaps and chapesses Regards Shaun
  18. Doing some great work. For the panels, the cheapy ones usually need quite a bit of fiddling to fit, but also the more expensive (genuine type) ones also need a little fettling, but usually less than the others Cheers Shaun
  19. Mine was a 2002 model, it had integrated headrests in the seats. They were very comfortable!
  20. That's going to look really nice when finished!
  21. I personally wouldn't use masking tape, if it's left on for too long (which often happens) then it can become sticky and gooey when trying to take it off again I use small bags when stripping things, you can then pop a piece of card in with the item number or description, knot the bag so it's sealed, then they won't get mixed up!
