  1. I agree with the others, roll them. Do a search on YouTube for arch rolling, it's quite easy, just take your time and it will be fine. You could even make your own roller, using a skate board/roller skate wheel!  :)
  2. Me also, but the offer is there! I will give my contact details at the start! (Better start prepping the car, or should that be finish the restoration) Dirk does like giving us a challenge!  :P

  4. After reading about the last 10cr and the problems when a diff blew, the car was recovered to a garage (in France if I remember correctly) and the owner having a nightmare getting it all sorted I was thinking if the unfortunate does happen, have your car recovered to my place in Belgium, then you can leave it there for as long as you need, and we can repair it at your leisure so you can then drive it home at a later stage! Just a thought if it helps.  ;)
  5. It's not what you got Nick, it's how you use it!   As for your idea on the diff expansion bottle, if you are having oil pushing up through the breather I think you may have a problem, it's the same as vehicles with solid axles, it is only there for expansion and contraction of the air inside. That's why if your axle/diff leaks, it's best to first check if the breather is blocked! 🙂 Cheers Shaun
  6. Good luck with the investment, I think you need to get her chocolates as well 🙂 I have to agree with Nick (J) fit it with the tune you like, then book a session on a rolling road! Money well spent, I have seen many cars set up really well (as best as they can be) until they get on the RR, They can put the car through it's paces under varying loads, and see flat spots or underfueling/over fuelling, varying timing, that you would not otherwise see doing a normal tune.
  7. We fitted one to the renown for the RBRR! it helped improve the engine the first curve was no good, had a huge flat spot and no power, so dirk changed it and it emproved it no end, still think we will have to fine tune it but it did well for the 2000 or so miles! 🙂

    GT6 MK2 Front wings

you need the genuine heritage panels (some of the lesser quality are listed as heritage) the ones from fitchets will be the best, you will pay more but they will be less hassle to fit, you will no dought still encounter a little bit of fettling but no where near as much as if you buy the cheaper less well made panels
  10. And what will you do now with all that extra baby talc?  :P
  11. I will be going trunionless when the spit is done. As said above, there is not a lot of problem with the trunionless kit, but as said, it's secured by the "pinch" of the single bolt. There is the flange at the top that helps prevent it moving, i did see on another forum (forgot where) that one chap had some problems with the flange part twisting and bending slightly, but that could be an easy fix during manufacture, by increasing the material thickness at that end! If it's not already been solved.
  12. What about that ceramic coating? (Not tried it yet myself, but have hear good things about it)
  13. Just had another thought, dust the inside of the cap with talc powder, then re fit. Wash the area as usual, let the excess run off, dry around the outside of the cap before removing, then take it off, and you will see the water tell tale mark where it has entered! That will let you know if it's running in from the body itself! And with the left over talc, you can rub it on your body and smell like a little baby!  ;)
  14. We have been doing this for years with the off roaders, some of them drilled the caps, with a vent tube, others drilled the dizzy body at the base, but also check around your dizzy itself, perhaps the water is entering somewhere like the vac advance unit and running down into the cap. We could run v8's totally submerged with no problem once all was sealed and vented. Most were fed to a breather tube, but your idea looks better as its pulling air through, but my only concern would be from "icing" on a really cold day? (That's why some carb manifolds are water cooled/heated) and the internal engine bay heat won't alter that. My truck carb can ice up even in warm weather, if held at a steady rpm, the air flow forms droplets that ice up, then she starts popping, give her a boot full and its clears. (It was a known problem in the military with this engine). Anyway back on thread, there are many standard original "vented" distributor caps out there, so it has been a known issue for years.  :)
  15. Will agree with the others, it's coming along really nicely. There is something about nice fresh, machined parts! They look great. 🙂

    sparco seats

They would have been mothballed if they were fitted bainzy, but it already came with the worn out sparco's. I think he has decided to get the sparco's re furbished with a little extra padding for us older ones!  ;D

Thanks, will try them. Byakko, that's also something I said, to see if there is anything to polish them out. They are not deep ones. Cheers

    sparco seats

thats the problem Ted, wich ones fit in the car? first work that one out then test sit in those, because you just know, sod's law you'll find a really nice one, then try it and it wont fit! i also told him to look at the classic bucket style also, they are comfortable!

    sparco seats

just another thought, they dont have to be sparco buckets, as the regularity he wants to do, they dont need to be FIA approved so he could use other ones, he was looking at a shop in uk, they list different small bucket seats, but list them as fitting mini, or mg midget, so dont know if they will be too big also! the reason he was thinking of re-covering them is because they are uncomfortable due to being worn, and if its a 2 or 300 km route they need to be friendlier on older bones!  ;D

    sparco seats

hi all, went to uk with my friend to look at a gt6 rally car, took it for a play (oops i mean test drive) anyway a bit of haggling and its now back over here with us. it can be used as is, but he wants to titavate it a little, fix a few minor issues etc etc one of the main things are the seats, they are sparco sprint junior's, (no longer made) but they are worn (the fabric, and sponge etc) so he has two options, look for new ones on the bay of evil, or recover these ones! so that is where my question comes in, has anyone ever recovered their sparco's? do they sell refurb kits? (i have not yet asked sparco, but thought i would see on here) thank you all in advance shaun
