  1. The link for my BT Cloud is HERE Sorry for the delay (been busy with the Citroen!)
  2. Martin, I've got the parts catalogue available to download from my BT Cloud storage if it helps any. I can't post the link because I'm at work at the moment. I can do it when I get home.
  3. Martin, we don't all have F***book. Looking forward to your next vid. I might even subscribe to your YT channel!

    Acclaim exhaust

Jon, there's no difference between the manual and Triomatic. It was the later cars that had a different exhaust. The later cars had a spring loaded ball joint right at the manofild/downpipe joint which allowed for some movement (a common problem with the rigid early ones hence the clamp which most cars lost after a visit to a "fast fit" place) and a normal sliding type joint for the rear silencer.
  5. You have chosen wisely. They cost but it is well worth the money and Chris Witor does next-day delivery. When I had a couple of the front subframe mounts repaired on my Dolomite, I rebushed them with SuperFlex and it has transformed the car.
  6. I doubt your head will need skimming but it would be best to check with a steel ruler. It would take a lot to warp the cast iron head that these engines have.
  7. Something else I forgot to mention: Part of the handbrake linkage can seize. It is the L shaped part that goes through the grommet on the back plate only it isn't L shaped. It gets like that if is is seized. Lots of penetrating fluid of choice should free it off. Hope and pray that you don't need to replace the handbrake cables. They're routed above the petrol tank which will have to be dropped to get access to them.
  8. There are 2 sizes of rear brakes. It was the very late ones that were different. Also, they're an absolute pig of a job to adjust because the so-called "self adjusters" don't work as they should. When I last did this job I had to manually wind the adjusters out until they were in the right position. I always ended up with a poor handbrake even though it got through the MoT. Where's the Guru when you need him?
  9. You will only need a strobe light for checking the ignition timing. It isn't necessary for a timing belt change. Just make sure the timing marks are lined up once the new belt has been fitted.
  10. I've only done it once and was easy enough. It might be documented in my Blog. I did it in September 2011 when Becky II's cambelt snapped. The EN4 engine is a non-interference engine so the valves will never hit the pistons.
  11. The SU HS6 carbs will fit the TR7 manifold. My 1850 had such a setup when I first got it. I'm now on HS4s. I'm gradually getting the parts to do the Stromberg carb conversion. The early 1850s used the 150CDS. You will need the Stromberg manifold. I don't think they'll fit the SU manifold although they look similar. I know of somebody who has a Stromberg manifold.
  12. You should liaise with the TDC's panel man (Alun). The TDC already have quite a range of panels. I think you looked into the front wings and being a complicated panel, it was way too costly. Besides, the club does GRP wings which are a good fit. The carmine Toledo and the white 1850 on the TDC stand at Stoneleigh have had GRP wings fitted.
  13. I've got one. You lose the headlights on your Dolomite in the middle of Wales because the indicator stalk has burned out. Should've fitted those relays...
  14. Lloyd, I believe that congratulations are in order. Your panels were featured in Practical Classics Did you flog any panels to Danny Hopkins for his Sienna 2000 by any chance? Any thoughts on producing Dolomite panels that the TDC don't already make? I know we discussed this a couple of years ago.
  15. Jon, I was in discussion with Lloyd about Dolomite panels that the TDC don't make but nothing ever came of it. Outer front wings would be challenging. Incidentally, Lloyd's panels featured in the most recent edition of Practical Classics. I wonder if Danny Hopkins has bought any of Lloyds panels for his Sienna 2000 saloon.
  16. When I had the steering rack replaced on the Dolomite last year, I had Super Flex bushes fitted. They're worth every penny and are highly recommended.
  17. It should be still open come October. I was up that way in November last year before they had to close it. It has since been reopened to non-HGV traffic so it shouldn't be a problem for the RBRR.
  18. Barry McGrath, the legendary Acclaim Guru is your man. Barry, if you're reading this can you help?
  19. You can get those relays from Halfords. I bought a pair when I did the halogen upgrade on my Dolomite. It saves on extra wiring. You can take a look at my setup at the next P&P meeting.
  20. I was doing an oil change on a 2007 VW Beetle (MK4 Golf based) and the oil filter wouldn't budge. I broke a strap wrench, I tried the "screwdriver method" and still it refused to budge. I bought a chain wrench and it came off a treat. I do all my own oil changes and I've never had any problems with removing the filters I've fitted. I videoed the last oil and filter change I did on the Astra in August and I've stuck it up on YouTube.

  22. The name certainly doesn't imply a race of any sort. Having the MSA on side is a big help so well done Tim.
  23. The points on the original Delco dizzy on my 1850 are an absolute pain to adjust. That's why I've fitted a Sprint dizzy. It makes life so much easier even if I stuck with points. It also gave me more options for electronic ignition.
  24. I use the Britpart kit in a Sprint dizzy on my 1850. It is a straight swap for the points and condenser. I didn't even need to change the coil and it is still going strong to this day. It is one of the best things I've done to this car. Like Sam, I had a set of points and condenser in the glovebox "just in case" but they ended up going in a Dolomite 1300 whose electronic ignition expired.. I got mine from this website: http://www.mm-4x4.com/britpart-electronic-conversion-kit-2721-p.asp It will fit the Lucas 45D4 dizzy but the Lucas 44D4 that's fitted on the Sprint uses the same points and condenser so it will fit. I used a 45D4 rotor arm and cap with the normal 1850 HT leads and it works a treat. My setup would work on a TR7 I'm not sure how this would work on a Sprint engine because it would foul the normal Sprint cap and rotor arm.
  25. Just read your latest Blog post and they weren't the only pigs you ran into...
