  1. What will happen is as the ring expands the ends will touch & with no where else to expand too they will buckle up & fracture your piston, bits will probably fall off wreck your bore & who knows what else in the engine. Common problem with NOS engines that haven't been built properly as the rings run hotter. RR
  2. Don't remember how i took that part out, think i may have left it in actually. I did have to change the plunger as that was square.
  3. can't recommend DHL either, they never deliver & just leave a message saying we were not in even though we have been all day & a DHL van has never been up the lane, so would 2nd that they are self exciters.
  4. We have 5KV ones at work, they make big sparks
  5. Mikey have you a megger? a DVM is no good for the insulation test.
  6. Not sure how long your wire run is, but lets say 3metres, with 25mmsq wire that will give you 0.4v drop across its length which is about 3.4% which is acceptable.
  7. If you have a battery disconnect do you really need a conditioner?
  8. Your stud extractor is easy, just knock 1/2'' extender out.
  9. Rope down the spark plugs, then turn the engine over usually gets the head to pop off.
  10. Its probably sulking anyway as i've been spending most of my time with the other ones 😉, be good to chuck it up a hill to see what it/ I can do 🙂 Now back to your G15....unless anyone else wants to do the Tours thing with us.
  11. That would be a fairly easy lead job, smallish area, not vertical, convex, just be sure you get all the flux off otherwise it will rust underneath, found that one out the hard way.
  12. Will be there if i can, just need to sort out the vapourisation issue once & for all.
  13. I'm sure a fitted kitchen, a lathe & an English wheel trump a mezz deck! Nice bushes, i would be tempted to put in a grease point & just leave them in, nothing like a sharp front end. Let me know when you are both across next, be good to see you again. cheers Brad
  14. the mezzanine deck helps a lot, somewhere to store everything, but never enough room.
  15. John, just how big is your garage, i've got a mild case of garage envy, mine doesn't have a fitted kitchen for starters... 🙂
  16. Just (90% complete) plumbed in return to tank line, used a double banjo on the last carb so fairly easy to do, works out at half a litre a minute back to tank which I reckon isn't too excessive. Next up is an inlet heat shield, not a lot of room so going to  be a bit tricky.
  17. I would welcome that, am on different forums but like the Triumph one best for the crac. RR
