  1. As most of you know my Dolomite has a TR7 2L engine.  My mate that looks after the car currently can't find the Trans Oil Fill Plug.  Can someone please tell me where it is?  A picture would help as you know I live here in the states and the car is in Bishops Stortford, England.   Thanks All.
  2. For the 2014 run, I will be just a few days short of my 66th birthday on Oct 10.
  3. No matter what happens with the election in September, Could it really have any in pact on the RBRR?  Could any changes be put into effect that quick?
  4. Passport? No Problem.  Don't worry Andy, Dolomite's will allways be welcome north of the Border.  Hummmm, in or out of the EU?  Will we need funny money?

    Conv Roof Question

I have now painted my roof frame, ordered a new top and the car is almost ready to send off to my shop for a few things.   The front cross section that clamps down on the windshield frame, What is the stick on part (pad or vinal?) that you can see form the inside where the latch's screw on?  Where or can one get this part?  What have the rest of you used the replace the webbing?  Anyone got new clips that hold the chrome strip above the rear window?   Canleys no longer sell the roof's, Arrived in 4 days form Rimmer Bros!

    Door alignment

Having just done one of mine, full resto with body off and back on, it does look as if the 2 sections are too close.  As Bill said it could be the weatherstrip.  One problem I had on both doors was the anti-burst as they did not line up and caused the doors not to close.  It only took a minor back adjustment on the hinges and rear height of the doors.   The anti-burst catch's do not seem to have any adjustment.  If I slammed the doors they would shut but were then hard to open.  Take the anti-burst part off the B pillar and see if the doors close OK.  Just a thought.

  9. Hard to beat Team Shorts for best dressed.  Cept for the year the X Army guys in the Vitesse.
  10. As far as I know I am only 1 of 4 Americans who has entered the RBRR since 2006.  Pat Barbor, Blake Discher and a friend of Jason's.  I have allways had a English crew so entry has been no problem with one of then sending the entry in time.  Again this time Ashley Mills sent my entry along with his.  The years Pat and Blake ran they also brought a car over and I do not know how they got their entry in but Pat has many friends who could have found someone to send their entry.   I have allways made arrangements for the entry fee.  Two years Pat was with Carl and Tim so I am sure they took care of entry.  I don't know how those form Europe enter, assume the same.  Only change I would like to see, those of us who do not live in the UK be able to PayPal the fee.  We can't write checks or send cash in the mail.  Yes I am willing to pay the extra PayPal fee.  Above I believe Tim will work with anyone who want's in.  In part that's why I put a Sticky Thread for those who want a co driver or want to be one.  Please note, I have no problem working within the rules and do not expect any favors or special treatment because of where I live.   The year that Pat brought his GT6 I don't know if his co driver was a American.
  11. I assume you could include a 3 person team with a Mr & Mrs in here.  The first (my second) RBRR for Team DollyRoo, was with Bill & Karen Davies in 2008.
  12. Chris, Jeep? Not a Triumph! Want to be the co-driver?  (No Top or Heater) If you want to drive it again that bad, you got to come back over.  Hurry before Debbie sells the Harley and the Model A's.  She will be happy to sell you the Vette!  Hummmm, do the RBRR in that! Carl and Clive: This goes for you also.
  13. I know we all seem to get off the subject: However I think it is time to start another thread for comments, as this if for those who want to Marshal the event and it will make things easy on Tim if we limit it just to that.
  14. McJim: Sorry to see the power lines have not reached you yet (or you have not paid (or too cheap) your electric bill) and you have to sit in the dark.  Ok I admit I have not had the time when I have been over to get up to Scotland to see you.  I made you the offer to do the last 10CR but you declined.  Since I have seen more sheep in Scotland than anywhere (including Ireland) I don't understand how you could be lonely?   Yes Tim is a great guy and does a fantastic job with the RBRR.  Though I admit I am trying to steal a couple of his marshal's to form a team for next years run.  I need a 4th mug to complete my set.  Exciting? Assume you have drunk all that funny yellow stuff.

    Seat Covers

Andy: If you see or talk to Carl ask him if he knows anyone.  I had thought of doing the same as you but never got around to it.  Using my car in September is when I noticed the poor condition of the front seats.  Little tears and seem splits.  I like the idea of yours just trimming the top of the rear and it should look nice.  My problem is the front seats need to be redone.  Just normal wear and age.  I just want something that looks good.  I would only go cloth as I don't like vinel, nagahide  or leather.   Do you know how many little poor nagas have to give up their lives to make nagahide?  By the way it's looks good the wife and I will make the IOW this coming year.  Will share a caravan with Chris and Linda Allen.  Like to get a pic of our cars together.

    Seat Covers

Thanks Mark:  Please PM me with the contact info.  Andy, my Dolly had the same issue with the top of the rear seat.  Carl put a blanket over the entire seat back that looked OK.  Could not use the rear arm rest though.  Since my car is far form original I am after something that looks good and will match the car.  I would like to stay as close to original as I can.

    Seat Covers

Where is the best place to get new seat covers for my Dolly?  1972 1850HL, tan in color with rear center arm rest and map pocket on the back of ft seats.  Anyone know a good shop to install near Bishops Stortford?   DollyRoo's are a bit tacky and spliting at the seams.
  18. Time will fly till the next run.  On a side note, during my travels around England after the 10CR from Yorkshire back to Bishops Stortford I made a stop at the Blyth Service area. Looked different in the daytime.  That makes 5 times now that I have been their.  I plan on entering the upcoming run, just have to sort out a team. Prefer a team of 3.  Anyone interested?  My car or yours, PM me.   Preference given to Club Members who otherwise could not do the run.   You must be at least 30 to get on my insurance.   Tim: let me know when you want me to make the sticky threads.
  19. Their is no way you will make everyone happy no matter what you do.   After doing 3 of these, this was the easy one.  The 09 one was the most scenic one and the 11 was most challenge with all the Alpine passes.  Combine all 3 and you get a Great Run.  Ok not so many passes.   As for overnight stops, this one was about right and I personally like the get together at each stop.  (I only get to see some of you on these runs)  Regie Barton got Ellis to OK for me to sign the books at the control stops if no other officer was around as I am only a forum moderator.  Lets face it, we are mostly all honest here and as long as a few of us made a check point then we all know each made it as this is not the RBRR with timed points.  Starting in france instead of the Plough worked for my team, but I understand not for everyone.  Like the last one we stoped at the Plough on Monday anyway.  Of course I don't know if I will be able to do the next one, but I have faith in all of you to come up with a good run. My only complaint: Hotel that ran out of BEER and Rolduc closing the BAR early! Note to ajp:  I think you were joking, but I would never vote to change the rules about Club Members and only Triumphs on the run.
  20. Anyone know where I can find the picture that Carl took of me with all the Beer at the hotel that ran out?  Or can someone EMail it to me?  PM for EMail.
  21. A little late as I got back home late Friday night.(8-20)  On behalf of my crew, Ash and Gary, Teem DollyRoo gives a big thanks to Ellis and all who made this the best run we have had so far.   3rd time a charm as our car had NO issues of any kind.  I also want to thank all who were their for making my fellow countrymen feel very Welcome.  I am proud to be part of this group of Great People.
  22. As  some know Carol and I arrived safe and sound in England Monday.  Glen from Team Torpedo left from Dullas with us on a different flight.  Got over to Mikeyb's yesterday to pick up roof box for after the run.  Picked up a few items for DollyRoo also.  Leaving this afternoon to pick up my crew in Luton.  Will be in france tonight.  Sorry I could not make it down to the bullet last night.  See everyone tonight or tomorrow morning.  GOOD LUCK ALL!
