  2. Roger, Please PM my your number just in case, as I will not have the only Dolly on the run.  Will the same fit a 1300? Carl:  Come on, I dare you to put a CD player in you car.  I could weld a boom-box to it?   Of course if you happen to have room next to me on the trip, I play it loud to sleep by. McJim:  Sorry I never heard that term before.
  3. Look Out and Beware!  The Americans have been talking.  Might have to re-name it --- ABRR Tim and All. I have unstuck the Marshal Needed for 2012 thread to avoid any confusion. Tim, let me know If and when you want any Sticky's for 2014

    Door Alignment

Haveing just going through this, (though mine fit OK) I am not the expert but,  It looks to me your first problem is the bulkhead,  Is it correct on the frame, not too far back or forward?  I think it is tilted, high in the front and low in the back.  You might want to put a washer under the rear of the bulkhead just ahead of where the rear tub mates up. Then check the rear tub is has the correct distance between the A & B pillars.   As for the gap between the bonnet and the bulkhead it looks as if the bonnet is too far forward.   Looks as if the wing assbly has not been moved so that leads me to think the bulkhead of on the wrong angle.   If you do move the wing assbly, be sure to loosen all the bolts including the one under the rubber plug top/front of the door.   Hope this helps.

  6. Now, if only the "Petrol Heads" had that in their car last time. (and used it)  Can you say Ka-Boom!  ; ??)
  7. No, Glen is on Virgin Atlantic and the wife and I are on BA only 1hr apart.   BA gives me the return time I wanted.
  8. Made the Crab run Yesterday, great weather, good turnout, over 40 of us and about 18 Triumph's including Glen and his Stag!   Had long talk with Glen and he will ride to the airport with us on Sunday.
  9. Joe:  I will arrive Heathrow on Monday morning, bus to Bishops Stortford.   Working on getting to the Pub meet on Tuesday, 2 1/2 hr drive one way!   My team leaves Luton on Wednesday evening about 5PM and taking the Chunnel to france.  We have a hotel booked for Wednesday night.  Not sure of the name as I did not make the arrangements.  You cant miss DollyRoo, 72 Red Dolomite with our team logo on the car.  Chris Allen and Team MO will be with us.  Have not heard from Glen, our local club Crab Run is tomorrow (Sunday) and we will end close to Glens' house.  Bill
  10. It might be what Piman meant, be sure to look where head end is, under the dash and steering column.
  11. We are not taking the box on the run! Box is for the two week stay after the run with another couple.  Unless he lost it, Ash plans on putting the temp windscreen in our spares kit along with the "Anti-Van" avoidance Unit and non-slip Frog Popping wrap for the tires. NO! We don't plan on using Them!
  12. I hope to pick up the roof box on the Tuesday before the run. He might take it over to Bishops Stortford before I arrive though.  My CD's are copyed on a Computer so I think they work on your CD players.  If you are taking a laptop with a DC drive then you are OK.   I will look into a memory stick.   Can you plug a memory stick in?

  14. Note here for my American Friends! As we do not yet use "Chips" in our credit cards, I recommend each of you get at least one per car.  All night filling stations are not maned!  They only accept cards with the "chips".   Visa cards can be had, all you need is to call the number on the back of the card.  Some Master Charge cards are not yet able to provide the chip. I do not know if Discover cards have them or not of if anyone outside of the US will take one.  Diners Club, Carte Blanch and the like are a thing of the past. BEWARE!  A lot of merchants in England and Europe, WILL NOT accept any form of a American Express card!  The fees AE charges to them is tooooooo High. Our first time in Italy, we found a all night station, It took cash (Euros)  the stand where you put in the money was across the isle form the pumps.  All info in Italian only. Took some time to figure what buttons to push to activate what pump!   Also beware!  Pump handles are green overtheir for gas.  Be very you never put Diesel in your car. To my English friends, All and only Diesel pump handles are Green overhere.
  15. Er, no, picture was at the start of the last run.  Dolly had her tough screen!  She now has a proper laminated one.
  16. Great picture of DollyRoo!   Could someone please get me a copy of that Mag?  Will pay and pick up on the run.  Thanks.
  17. Dave, the last time I saw it (last year) you told me you were gonna brake it up for parts.  As you remember the first time I saw it my wife was with me and said I could not have it even if it were free!   Shame really as it could have (and still could) be crowd please'er.  Some of my local club members were hoping I would take it and make it a club project.  Problem is none of us have anywhere to store it.  I would like to see it saved, put in a museum like Coventry or even the TSSC one.  I admit I did want it (and still do) but have to be real, even I do not have enough garage room!  Now if I were to hit the lottery?   Or if we moved next to your shop, then I think it would be saved.   I still would like to see someone do the RBRR in a Mayflower.  That would be cool!  Yes, I would go as a co-driver.
  18. Two things to look into.  Some company's will only pay up to the agreed value of your car to recover and or bring the car back to the UK.  Some offer a hire car for the remainder of the entire trip while some none or only enough time to get back to the UK.  Or so I have been told.
  19. Agreed you can't please everyone.  No harm meant by voicing my opinion.   I know some sticky's will cause paint problems as will the magnet's if left on too long.  I don't know how much the blank sheets cost in the UK but here they are cheap.  Don't know the cost of all the one's the club uses.   Another reason I use the magnet sheets, I save them as a momento and display them on one of my Herald's at car shows.  They hang in my garage for all to see.  For display the current type I put magnet strips with sticky backing on them.  However this would not work on a moving car as they would blow off.   By the way not all magnet sheets are equal and some will blow off at speeds over 50mph.   One solution is let everyone order what they want and pay for them.  That would be a admin nightmare.   With enough advance warning I could have the magnet ones made up here as the company I deal with will copy anything.  Cost of shipping might be more than some can bare and even if I were to bring them with me the weight adds up quick with a large order.   Had I known a month or more ago I would have had them made for my car.  I don't think at this date I could have them made in time.  It takes about 2 weeks for the DollyRoo ones and they have the template only have to change a name or two. VR:  I will be happy to put you in touch with who I use if you are interested for the next run.
  20. As most of you know I use the magnatic sheets for everything I stick on my car.  The placakards that were use last time and on this run have no sticky backing.  Last time we tried to glue them on the magnatic sheet but the next morning they had curled up!  While I think it is possible to afix them be careful that what ever you use works.   While I could zip tie the front one, I had to place the rear in the rear window as not easy to wire tie them on the back.  I would have prefered the type we had on the 09 and the past RBRR's, or these that were allready magnatic.
  21. I have allways found pressure is more a matter of choice than what anyone or book recommends.   On my Heralds I run 28lbs front and rear.  My Dolomite 30 front and rear.   I have also found no single figure is good for every brand and or tread design.  One must experiment with different pressures to find what they like in handling and wear.  28 to 30 is a good starting point.  If you only go with ride, that might not be best for handling and wear.   When radials first came out, they recommended lower pressure, NOT SO in my book as lower meant bad handling and quick wear out.  On some cars lower pressure causes sidewalls to flex too much. Here in the states tires have weight ratings while this should not be a problem with Triumph's a under rated tire will cause problems.  The above is for normal driving, race, off road and the like are a different matter. NOTE: not all pressure gauge's and pump's are Equal!  Invest in a good gauge and refrain from using more than one at a time on each wheel.

    Tail Fin Chrome

Tail lights and reflectors fit both sides and as far as I know all Heralds and Vitesse's. I think someone could make good money if they offered new or re chromed V's.
