  1. While I don't care for the wheels, it is a nice car.  However maby it's me but I think the price is quite HIGH!  Anyone think the car is worth that much? I could get attached to a Vitesse MKII LHD, though.
  2. I voted for the standard Vitesse wheel.    We call them "Banjo Wheels" here.   Wheel 1 is what i call a standard Herald wheel.  OK but too big and you have to slide under when getting into the car.   I have the banjo wheel on both of my Herald convs.    I also like the wood ones and prefer the round holes.   I have a Mota on my Dolomite and like it.   Wheel #2, I do not like a thick wheel, I know some do.  I get a better grip and feel on a thin wheel.
  3. On the same vain, I just got a note from my mate Ash. is it true your sat/nav must not have speed camera warning enabled?   I don't know if mine has the warning or not.  The last time in England it did not warn me of any.   Years ago the previous one did. Can we get a discount if we all buy the breath thingys in bulk?
  4. Paudman:  I think the lighting in the hall was not the best for photos.   I still have the copy.  Funny, that is Ashley Mills next to the car.  Met him for the first time at Stafford and we have become very good mates since then.   I remember the yellow Herald and I think it was from Germany.  It had a very nice home made luggage rack on the back that mounted to the 4 screws on the rear of the lid, to hide the pull through.  Would like to have one of them.   Of course that was where the wife and I met you and your family.  We had a good time that weekend.   Chris Allen and his wife also became good mates form that weekend and we visit with them often.   To All Here:   See Triumph's and Heralds Do Bring People Together!
  5. I try ti keep JLG as nice as I can.  Only put a few miles a year on her.   Yes I still use the UK plates, (police here don't care) though I have the correct Maryland one's in the car.  I did get plates with the same number.    We have to keep them nice as I only know of 4 Estates in the states.  The other two (1200's LHD's) are in California.   If anyone know's of a another, please inform me.  Chris Allen was happy with the way I keep her when he was over and spent some time working on her.   She gets lots of comments as most here have never seen one.
  6. The Herald above and here was a very nice modified car.  I almost bought it.  (Price)  The car was sold shortly after these were taken.  I think the car is somewhere in Up State New York.
  7. Here is a picture of a TR6 engine in a 13/60 Herald Estate.   I saw and drive this car.  It was nicely done but, I would still go with a Vitesse if I wanted a 6.    (Andy, yes this was Jim Williams Car)

    Clutch issues

I would replace everything.   That crusty white power,  (cyl inerds flaking away) will have worked it way into the line and the slave.  Most often the power is a result of moisture in the system.   Not that I am for or against but this is one reason some have the cyls re cored with brass and use silcone fluid.
  9. The HCR is the last remaining event I need to find the time and money to do.   Maby next year?
  10. Jason, I seem to recall you dove a truck like mine dragging a house behind you.   OK it did bend in the middle.  By the way I have seen the stretch (just last October) and over here it's not all that BIG!  I did notice a RED "Kojack" police light inside, maby you should have used it! Shame the wife saw it the fist time I did a few years ago, or, it just might be in my garage.
  11. Pub?  I'm in!   Only been to two pubs in Luton,  One downtown  (looked like the Queen Vic in Eastenders) and the one in the Hilton on Hitchens road not far from you house.
  12. Only in Swiss-Land does one need a windscreen!   DollyRoo now has a proper laminated one.  We will carry the temp screen just in case anyone needs it   ??) Ash has the plexaglass one. For our 3rd try we will do our best to keep the engine fan on the car and no glass brakage.  But hay we have allways Finished   :P
  13. Some invasion!  We have guns and the Brit's don't!  Some of us will have a night maneuver as we will invade france Wednesday night!  Will set up a forward observation post and secure it.  Though un-armed, the frogs are no match for my lackey, Ashley!    Of course if I thought we might run into any serious resistance I would drag Ferny along. By the way on the return trip we might have to snag the Torpedo Estate as you all have no idea how much WINE Ash will try to bootleg back to England!
  14. Private bathrooms, translate to End Sweet!  Go figure.   Team DollyRoo will be in Calais on Wednesday night, some hotel Friday night and the Holiday Inn on Saturday night.    Ash made the arrangements for us and Team Moe (3 rooms) so those who know Ash know why I have no idea where the 1st two are.  We will leave Luton on Wednesday evening around 5PM as soon as Ash gets off work and for now are taking the Chunnel.   Warning to my fellow Americans! Buy only A round!  You have no idea how much BEER I can drink.  Ask any here who have been to my Garage!  Just don't get between me and a tree!  First time at Rolduc they ran OUT!  Second time ran out of Glasses!
  15. Torpedo4:  I have been in touch with Glen Municci, and will go over everything with him soon.  (he lives just a few miles from me and we allready know eachother)    Joe has called me and I will get back to him shortly.   My work schedule is overnights so I only have limited phone time.   The full route won't be out for a while.   I will give Glen the last road book for you all to see and get used to how the directions work.   I have also given Glen a name of someone we both know who might be interested as your 12th man.   By the way Glen is bigger then me.   I know, have drove his Stag.
  16. I talked with Glen Minucci last night, and we are on the same flight to England.     Team Torpedo, I will get together with Glen soon and go over everything. Andy, I remember the pub and that I went wit Jason to a meeting their. Might be a bit far but will see when I get to England.  Be nice to have all the Americans together as safety in numbers.  If you get Jason out of his house for a few hours I can paint his tires.
  17. The wife and I will arrive Bishops Stortford on the 2nd.   How far to the pub? from Chinn Towers?
  18. I think you could trailer it anywhere world wide and you will find and 12 year old can remove it.
  19. That's all we need:   A bunch of drunken, upchucking Wine'Os     (puke)
