  1. I miss the floor "SHOW" at Lancaster Service.  Good to see we will get Cakes again this time.
  2. Ferny will be at the drivers meeting for my team.  I want a mug, I think Pete knows to get one, but if someone tells Tina I will pay her at the start.

Ferny:  Are you sure you have them on right side up?  Take a good look at the pictures above.  Does yours look the same with the bonnet open?  The bent tabs on the end or each part should prevent them from folding upwards.  The part with the elong hole goes on the shock tower.  As you see in the pictures they want to fold downward when closing the bonnet.

yes mine is orignal to the car.  If fit OK before if took the entire car apart.  Entire body was removed form the frame.  Body fits the frame and  the bulkhead is the same distance on each side from the shock towers.  The front crossmember is not quite level as the right side was broken off from the over rider upright witch also was broke off.  With everything tight, each time I open and close the bonnet it I have to pull and tug to get it where it was. Hummmmmm. Oh I did find out there seems to be a right and left bonnet stays.
  5. Congrats, BIG time to Tim!  With a little arm twisting, noting that some can swim with the fishies, Looks like Dave Pearson is now entered!  HOO-RAY.  The run would not be the same without good ole Slim-Boy-Fat.  Now the question is again, will he have the car, van, whatever ready?  Hummmmmmmm

Could it be the spring has to be connected?  (to pull it downward) Have spent 3 days trying to align my bonnet on the blue Herald.  Right side is OK but left is a little forward and up at the rear.   Entire bonnet want's to be offset to the left.  Left side needs to be pulled down using the catch but the bulkhead catch will not go down any more.  Still trying.

    Chrome Strip Removal

I found on one of my Heralds, both rear side trims the last one at each end had clip pressed on from the inside.  Might be a good idea to look inside the boot and feel if their is anything holding that last mount.  On that point it might be better to use a small hammer and gently tap that one out.  The rivets are in stock at most of the vendors.
  8. I do like the bumpers.  Very well done.
  9. I do like the bumpers.  Very well done.
  10. Is anyone gonna put together a spare parts list with cell phone numbers?   While it is a pain and some don't bother to add their parts to the list, It DOES come in handy for some.  It has saved some form droping out during the run.   I also think I will unstick the ole post's for the 2012 run.  Comments please.   I would if I lived in the UK and knew more about how to put it all on the computer.
  11. You might think about this:  A friend who owns a MGA had cooling problems.  After adding elc  fan and the like he tried something called "Water "Weter".  This helped a lot.  Then he tried a different viscosty oil.  Don't remember but it was something like, old 10W30 to new 5W20 and the car ran much cooler.   I don't know if "Water Weter" can be found over their.

    Wax Choke?

I hope I got the term right.  Peter Wenzel is restoring a Spit for his daughter.  The car has duel SU's.  He has bought a kit to install a "Wax Choke".   Does anyone know anything about these?  Do they work?  Pete tells me it uses wax that softens and hardens with the engine temp and that open or closes the choke.  He would like to know more about this.

  19. As I recall their was road works on the A1 last time.  Detour signs were OK.  Steve and I got to the Blyth OK but some missed a turn or two.
  20. I would have bought a round, but the hotel ran out of BEER!  Me thinks same for some others also. I would like to see a prize for the best "Fancy Dress" on a run.
  21. Make the Swiss join the EU!  I hate getting their franks in change!  Do the best I can Not to spend money their.
  22. I think you need to find where the vacuum advance should connect to the carb.  Normally it will be a tube that goes into the venturi of the carb.
  23. I believe all the barrel's (cept glove box) can be re worked to use any key.
