    We didn't know about car of the run either. Probably on that bit of paper non of us read!!!! HA HA. Team 91, spitfire 1500. Had alternator seize, exhaust fell off,heater stopped working and could only comfortably drive at 60mph the whole way. Top pair of Guys. Chris.

    Dont forget to unhook the front of the head liner at the windscreen before you try to rotate the bars.

    1500 wont fit and the tubes would be the wrong size and length. If you have a mk1 gt6 engine then the ports are differently spaced than the other gt6 heads so you will need the mk1 specific manifold. I would personally go to a proper exhaust place and get a custom one made how you want it done. A custom manifold would be £600 or moss use to sell a gt6 mk1 manifold as do Rimmers but If wanting more power then I would do it right the first time round and go custom. Chris.

    Yes Congratulations all who made it.  It was a tough event which needed planning and preparing for well in advance. Really chuffed team 112 made it round and had fun helping stranded parties to rejoin the [s]race[/s] Tour. Really a good event with an even better bunch of people. Chris.

    Well the celebrity entry didn't make it and the best reason I've had from people is that he gave up and couldn't be bothered to go the other half of the run and finished at Tebay???? No car failure? Apparently he has filming near Tebay and it would save him the journey!!!! Some said maybe his co driver had had enough, but does anyone know the real reason??? I'm shocked he didn't make it as I'm sure people would have helped if anything did go wrong. SO WHAT HAPPENED??????

    Sounds like they disconnected it and thought best to place it back in as not to loose all the bits. Then just forgot to replace it. Wonder what else they did dodgy??? Chris.

    Not a Facet!!!! They are bloody awful!!! The Huco is a specific carb pressure fuel pump. These are german made and last forever. The choice is yours. Chris.

    Huco fuel pump. They never go wrong and you can't hear them running. Do a search in the spitfire section if your interested. It needs no pressure regulator as they have one built in at the correct pressure for our cars carbs. Alot will tell you not to bother but I say be different I loved mine but I'm now on EFI. Also not issues with fuel evaporation as it keep the float bowls topped up. Chris.

    Second that, Chic Doig. However mk1 and mk2 spitfire bonnet irons were different. mk1 were very short were mk2 travel up to the middle of the wheel arch. Dont know what a gt6 mk1 would have had so best to ask Chic. Chris.

    Wim,          Just buy a new u/j for spares to have on the shelf for when they do go. That way you will have the grease nipple and back up. Chris.

    I had to "Assist" my diff front mounts into place. Mine where 1/2" out too. Takes a while but it will go in fine. Chris.

    We drove through part of this on our way to Fort William the other weekend. Our sat nav tells us what our average speed was though this zone which means you can confidently overtake and then reduce speed sufficiently. Good bit of kit the Tom Tom but the Cameras are totally not needed. Also the Cameras are still recording on the dual carrigeway parts it just changes to 70mph which the tomtom calculates.  :) Chris.

    Ive gone for the car hoods carpets in claret red. They sell on ebay for under £200. They should arrive in a couple of weeks and ill let you know what I think of them. Chris.

    Maybe you need a new grease gun or a bigger pair of arms as mine always take some. I actually fill mine till it passes the seals and you get a couple of squirts before they pop. Best to pump em full anyway of top quality grease. Chris.

    I received a call too so thanks again to Dave, didn't really have any questions but the wife had loads. She loves a panic and wants to know all the details. Thats why I only tell her what she needs to know and didn't let her know Dave had phoned till after the call had ended!!! Ha Ha. Chris.
