Hi Guys,

Anyone got any experience of these brake pads currently being advertised on ebay?

'EBC Greenstuff Brake Pads Triumph Spitfire'

I've obviously never heard of them which is why I'm asking, thought maybe someone else would have.  Can they be used in conjunction with groved and holed discs?

Regards,

Bob

They're not as good as they claim. They do produce a lot of dust (which some have found abrasive on alloys)and I know some people have had them squeal when normal pads didn't. They're better than standard but I won't be buying them when they need replacing. I'll be going for Mintex 1444 (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). My Greenstuff have done 10k or so miles and I recon I will get another 3-4k out of them before I need to replace them.

Be careful, do not buy from someone on Ebay, this is because EBC was taken over by new owners in 2000 and changed the formula for the greenstuff pads.

I had some of the old ones and they last about 7,000 miles, and yes they make lots of brake dust.

I doubt I will buy them again, I will be using Carbon-Kevlar pads in future.

I'm pretty sure these will fit but someone else can confirm. The Mintex product code is MGB533.

For those in the USA/Canada (or overseas), the pads from the Nissan/Datsun 240z and 260z are a direct fit on the GT6 (and possibly Spits too), and available in a bunch of different brands. I personally am using Hawk HPS pads (which I use on all my cars), which can be bought from pretty much any online performance shop that sells Hawk pads.

I have used greenstuff on other cars and was not impressed. Hawk HPS is great for street. if you want autocross pads, Hawk HP+ is good, and they also make race compounds. All are available for the 240z/260z and by extension the GT6.
