307e
Just removed the spring eye bushes (rubber originals) to replace with polybushes. Do you have to remove the outside metal tube of the old rubber bush or is the poly pushed into the tube already there; we tried and it is very tight. Thanks, Steve
dazasdolly
Leave the outside metal tube in place, use some washing up liquid to help ease it in, if that fails gently boil the bushes in a pan as this makes them softer.Hope this helpsDarren
Nick Jones
Are you sure? I think the outer tube (which is part of the original bush) needs to come out.Nick
willows40
Not certain but i would of said that you need to remove all traces of the old bush until all you have is the metal of the springcheers Andy
herald948
I suspect it depends upon whether the poly bushes come with a new sleeve (I'm guessing most or all of them don't)? I know the OE rubber style ones do come with the metal sleeve, so the old one does need to be removed.
rubberhead
get those old bushes out completely mate.if the polybushes needed steel outers they would have come with them ;)
midgeman
As already said all traces of old bush needs to come out and make sure you clean the spring eye to remove any traces of rust before putting your nice new Poly Bushes inMy new Bushes purchased from James Paddock came with a sachet of white grease to aid assembly. dazasdolly
Mine didn't have the outer, must have been changed before, sorry for the mis- advice. I am in the process of poly bushing mine and with a suitable vice a g-clamp and washing up liquid it's been a breeze.Darren
