Nick Jones Posted August 28, 2012 Share Posted August 28, 2012 Quite normal for the inner two mains to show more wear than the outers. They take thump from two cylinders. Replace the whole set seeing as you've already dropped the front main cap. I've been known to check the rear main and if it's still grey, leave the front well alone (as it's usually the least worn of the 4) to avoid the aggro of disturbing and re-sealing the bridge piece at the front.......BEs should be changed as a set also - imagine they are fairly coppery looking if the centre mains are like that. You'll probably have to settle for County/King HD tri-metal though. VP2s pretty much gone now.Is yours late enough to have the bigger bearings?
