Deleted User
I read of a Z3 based Spit once, but it was more like a Z3 with a spit body adapted to be fitted.what engine are you looking at fitting?
Spider
I believe it is the M52 2.8 all alloy Vanos unit that I have been looking at. I would like to fit it without modifying the bonnet with extra bulges. I have seen the Spitfire/Z3 before and no disrespect to the owner it is not a look that I like. thescrapman
SpiderSorry to be a party pooper but they are way too tall, unless you put a mahooosive bulge in the bonnet. If you built a spaceframe chassis to mount it all lower down and further back it might fit.CheersColin
Mark Hammond
I've seen the BMW 6 cylinder engine and 'box fitted to a Herald and it was in ok in that, but there is substantially less clearance in the under-bonnet area in a Spitfire or GT6. That engine would be cracking if it did fit too. You'd definitely need traction control though, those BMWs were lively enough with the TCS switched off, can't imagine that a GT6 would stay in a straight line with 192BHP of Munich's finest under the bonnet!Mark
