thescrapman
Does anyone here know the process?I have a 1300 engine that has a fully balanced bottom end, but... the clutch cover has suffered a terminal failure and has been replaced.Does anyone know if they can balance just the clutch cover, bolted I assume to the flywheel, as I can remove that easily as well.I have no desire to remove the crank.CheersColin
StagNL
Colin, I'm not certain but I think they can.I had the rotating bits of my Stag engine done a few years back and it vibrated a bit upon reassembly.Took flywheel, clutch and cover back to them and they found the cover wasn't done right. Logic tells me they can balance it separately.Julian
Sheepy
Yes, When they balance the engine, they begin with the crank, then every part they attach thereafter is balanced.Front pulley, flywheel, cluth, etc etcSo therefore, when you need to replace a part, as long as its balanced it will not upset the rest!
