Bainzy Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 The IV/1500 Spitfire hardtop has two pairs of self tapping screws that attach the quarterlight hinges to the hardtop, each one screws into a square shaped captive thingy that presses into the hardtop. I need two of these, does anyone know where I can get some? Wouldn't have a bloody clue where to look... Quote

Bainzy Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Wim, its the things that 508566 screw into. If you took the captive square fixings out, you'd be left with a square shaped hole with nothing for the screw to go into. :-/ Quote
BarryH Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Have a browse on this site or give them a call, normally very helpful.http://www.bresco.com/ Quote

Bainzy Posted September 26, 2021 Author Posted September 26, 2021 Just browsing some old threads. I eventually figured out what these are, they are a standard part on many BL cars called a 'spire nut'. FC2803 is the one - I think, although there seem to be different sizes for bigger screws (FC2804, FC2805...). Just waiting till suppliers get them in stock again to find out for sure. Quote
yorkshire_spam Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 FC2803 etc are described in the Standard Triumph hardware catalogue: 1 Quote
