307e
They used to be over many car seats in the past - tight fitting quite thick clear plastic seat covers. When I had some in an Anglia 105E they were faded, yellowing..... but keeping the seats clean and protected. The seats in the Herald are pristine and it would be nice to keep them that way. Are they still available and how much to pay against new seat upholstery? Thanks,Steve.
Nick Moore
I thought that the clear plastic on the seats and door trims was fitted by the factory, and was usually removed by the new owner. A few people have left it on to protect the trim, giving that 'time-warp' appearance.
Stu 1986
A Family friend based in Arizona had similar things on the seats of his mint 1975 Cadillac Coupe De ville. The seats were white leather/vinyl and when he took the covers off to show me the underneath it was like looking at a brand new car.
ferny
Perhaps a silly, but honest, question. Why would you want to do it? Surely the plastic has the potential to wear the seats as it rubs on it and what enjoyment can you have knowing that underneath the yellow sweaty plastic you've got nice seats no-one can see? Unless they're some super duppa really special never been sat in originals. In which case I'd be inclined to remove them and refit for shows etc.
