mazfg
Hopefully going to put my gearbox back in tomorrow. Just wondered if the outward face of the clutch release bearing should be clean and free from grease where it touches the clutch plate? mazfg
Thanks. Should I grease the spline? Also where the release bearing carrier sits on the shaft.?
poppyman
Yes but only lightly, and only use copperslip. And dont forget the spigot bearing in the crank

Nick Jones
LUK do special spline grease in a little tube too. Available from any decent motor factor. Apply very sparinglyNick
mazfg
I used a smear of moly based grease in the end. Pig of a job getting that gearbox in as I have extra weight with an overdrive. Still...all in now. Just need to get everything reconnected and will test briefly before I attach the prop. Thanks for the helpfull info.
