Leesey Posted April 7, 2011 Share Posted April 7, 2011 THe Spit is using fuel, it is a mk3 spit with the 1293cc engine., The engine seems to be spitting fuel out from the 2nd carb, the one nearest the front of the car. it seems to be coming up the needle (if that makes sense) ato the extent there is no rust proofing left under the bonnet there is a gap where it used to be. Give it a good clean out & fit a fuel filter if you haven't already.Also possibly the float is punctured so it doesn't err float... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nilfisken Posted April 8, 2011 Share Posted April 8, 2011 HI,my guess is also the needle valve, if you have the time I would give both the carbs a good clean and change of a few parts.
