BrendanD
Hi,Thinking of swapping the mechanical fan for an electric one so as to deal better with the London traffic. Most cars seem to have them fitted in addition to the mechanical one. I have a full width radiator. My concern is that on a hot day there may be less air movement under the bonnet.Any experiences? heraldcoupe
A full width radiator should deal with any normal conditions, if it's suffering with overheating I'd want to investigate the cause, rather than find a get-around by adding accessories,Cheers,Bill. BrendanD
The temp rises from 160 to 190 in traffic (I have a dual oil/water temp gauge) but it doesnt overheat. Its more 'precautionary'...and I fancied an electric fan. ;)
mjwman
I have a full width rad on my 1500. I added a Kenlowe and ran it without the engine fan.The temp varied too much for my liking so put the engine fan back. Now it is nice and stable with the Kenlowe only kicking in in traffic as required. I am happy with it this way.
