JLR
Duringa a recent massive downpoor, a puddle of rainwater was left in the passenger-side footwell. No water was evident on the dashboard or passenger seat, so I assumed the culprit was not a leaky hood. Is there a known 'weak spot' on the skuttle or elsewhere that might have been the cause? With thanks.
Dannyb
Does the Herald have a drain tube like the spit from battery box down inside the passenger footwell. Maybe this is leaking. Or getting in the air vents and coming through the heated box. There's a drain also to the Bulkhead. May be worth pouring water over the vents and seeing where it's getting in. It’s a feature. They do this. My Vitesse does it anyway. Sometimes on drivers side also. Depends on slope and wind direction. It’s the area where the quarter light, A pillar and hood frame meet. 4 hours ago, Dannyb said: Does the Herald have a drain tube like the spit from battery box down inside the passenger footwell. No. It’s just possible it’s coming through the heater but means either that the drain flap is blocked or there’s a rust hole in the bulkhead. Worth checking but more likely it’s gaps around the edge of the hood/car interface. They are not all that waterproof.
Wendy Dawes
A friends convertible ended up with an inch of water in both front footwells after a torrential downpour in Scotland, the joys of owning a classic 🤷🏻♀️

Though congratulations on having footwells that hold water! Edited September 24, 2023 by Nick Jones
