marktheherald Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Hi all, I'm running a 1500 / D-type OD combination in my 13/60 Estate. Moving off through the gears (O/D NOT selected) seems fine until I drop into 3rd, at which point I am encountering noticeable slip, similar to clutch slip. 3rd to 4th slip is hardly detectable, 1st to 2nd has no slip. I assume this is an overdrive problem but is it a re-con job or something easily fixable? Cheers, Mark.
Clive Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Mark, had the same on the vitesse a few years back, J type. Started slipping making it entertaining to drive. I suspect it is the cone clutch, but better qualified people may well put me right. I solved mine by fitting another OD unit. Job done.Clive
GTsixCA Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Mk3 Spit had one with low oil, topped it up, problem gone.
marktheherald Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 I'll check the oil level first. appeals to my pocket! Mark.
