Mark E
Does anyone know if they were available wood rim as well as leather? I've only ever seen the leather ones but someone mentioned to me that wood rim was an option?. Were they made by a third party manufacturer does anyone know? Clive
Wood were available from dealers.I know of (not me, but I have contact details) a brand spanking new one that is for sale, plus a very good used one. Not cheap, but then again very rare items.

FloydP
Mine had a wooden motolita wheel and it was fine for short journeys but was uncomfortable on longer runs, especially on pot holed roads, so I ditched it for a thick leather motolita one, not so pretty but so much nicer to actually drive with. Royboy66
I agree with Floyd ! I had a motolita wood rim on my mk1 for years! Then I put a cheap s/h leather mountney wheel on for my first track day and Wow ! Feels Soo much nicer to drive with, prob the best £15 I spent for so much improvement. Wood rim wheels are great to look at . Roy 8)
garyf
I've got one of the Formula Woodrim wheels fitted to my Vitesse and would agree that the thicker Leather rimmed wheels will be comfier.Mine Flex's and creaks! ??)It looks nice though? ;D
Mark E
Your Vitesse looks beautiful Gary! I had a thick leather Motolita wheel on my MGB (apologies for swearing). Agree that it was a lovely wheel and very comfortable but my GT6 is a weekend toy for heading to the pub and back. I've just come out of an Elise and I'm having a break from the track day world. The original wheels look gorgeous and, for the amount of miles and type of driving I'm doing at the moment, I'm not too concerned about the comfort factor. Anyone else with an original wheel lurking at the back of their wardrobe please drop me a pm :)
