Raider
Here's one for a number of us - Tim Bancroft and Jim Mctavish in particular perhaps ??) ;DIf we were to put together a compilation CD for the 10CR crews (which we wouldn't of course due to copywtrite laws) what tracks should be on it?Also should there be a limit on the tracks allowed - none later than 1981 perhaps ??)Or, as Tim has said as we are a motor club strictly speaking and not a classic car club maybe we should have up to the minute stuff as well.Ok - over to all of you - "get your motor running" ;)
Deleted User
Who's this Jim McTavish? Are you getting at me Mr R? ;)You know I'm not too quick.Anyway for your CD, why not include a cracking Seventies song, "Ballroom Blitz" by the Sweet in deference to a certain member's (no pun intended) choice of swimwear. :P :P :P
Raider
and the man at the back said everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz!!!!!!!Yeah - hey totally superficial glam rock stuff - I love it. None of this poncy patronising stuff about "real music" - if it's a bit of a laugh and makes you feel good it's good enough for me. ;)Getting at you Jim by the way? surely not ::)
GigGleR
how about the Peter Gunn Theme or, for when we reach Ventimiglia, John Lee Hookers 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer' :DOr maybe Roosevelt Sykes 'Drivin' wheel'Or, if you know the song, Macc Lads 'Blackpool' ;D

Tim Bancroft
Excuse me interrupting your wander down memory lane, but its now 2005, not 1973. Do not answer this with 'Well music was better then' It was not better or worse, its was then. I am thinking about what music to play on the 10Cr in the grey car, however suppose I should think about getting something to play it on.I write this after just spending 13/4hrs on the M25 stuck in a mega jam, the only things that made it pleasantish was playing the new Doves Cd plus some New Order and The Bees. Its damned important to have good vibes in the car.
James
Tim,You might want to think about this little badger...Plays MP3s from CD too - so you can get a good 10 hours of music on there. What's that? About 15 albums or so?Reckon it's the best looking stereo for our cars...James
Tim Bancroft
Was thinking of getting te old radio I have converted to play FM and then buying an Ipod and one of the radio tuning gizmos they do, however will prob need small amp as well. Also have to find somewhere to mount it as existing space will soon be atken up with aux. gauges.Of course GT6 does not have any sounds except the smooth noise of its six cylinder engine(Yep- more comments about the noise of my engine). James
Just get a tiny cheap amp (you can get some nice small ones) - then attach a simple phono to 3.5mm jack lead to it - have that hanging somewhere and then just plug it in - simple and very cheap! Raider
I know it's not 1973 but that's no reason we can't be discussing the music of the time.If we can't talk about the music of those years then why should we talk about the cars of those times either ??)I don't think I live in the past - after all I am communicating witth the technology of today. there wasn't even a Sinclair Spectrum around in 1973 :o
Tim Bancroft
Ah! Martha and the Muffins (Cue MGW445 gag soon)!Saw them at The Lyceum Ballroom' off The Strand in 1980 supporting Simple Minds and Squeeze- good gig! Tim Bancroft
Yes, i seem to remember hearing it at a filling station in Switzerland. Keith looked a bit shell-shocked. Some sort of Drum n'bass malarkey going on.

Deleted User
Do I need to answer that?Okay, it's the registration number on my Frogeye. When I sell it, I'll have to change my name.Any suggestions? That may be something I regret posting. :-/
James
I thought it might be that!Bit of a problem when you sell it though...Perhaps you can sell it on eBay... or does it go with the car?"Over 500 posts... well used... everybody loves me... username for sale..." Deleted User
No, I think I'll sell the number seperately.I don't feel guilty about it though as the only original part left on the car is probably the back axle but I wouldn't swear to that. The Frogeye has a Californian bodyshell, Midget 1275cc engine, uprated brakes etc.Not much 1959 car left at all.
