James
Can anyone remember the details of the place that does driveshafts for the saloon?I can't remember who posted the name — I think they were in Leeds?James

dazzer
It may have been me I mentioned:www.dandfltd.co.uk/Dunning & Fairbank. I had mine built from patterns of the originals by the chap who now works at Dunning & Fairbank.22K later of rally use and general heavy abuse, no problems whatsoever. Not bad considering I've totalled a clutch and broken a couple of poly subframe bushes in two.If you go heavy duty mine did spline lock a little for the first 2k or so but once run in they've not made a murmur since. They don't require gaitors either.CheersDarren
James
Hi Darren,Thanks!I presume he won't have the patterns for yours and I'll have to get him a set to copy then?James

dazzer
Hi JamesYes iyou'd need to give them a pattern to work to and just tell them you would like them to be heavy duty.CheersDarren

dazzer
They do the shafts and UJs. The bearing you will need to source elsewhere I use the Vessey units manufactured at Quaife... not for the faint hearted though as very expensive, but bullet proof. The rear hubs cost me more than the original car!!!
James
Cheers Darren - best look for some Mk1 shafts then :)
TRTOM2498
The Dennis Vessey hubs are very good quality. I have them on my TR6, and all the TR racers with an honest 250bhp use them without complaint. Agreed, these are expensive, but fit and forget for sure.Cheers
