Tim Hunt
Good tip, I find Cif (why was Jif so re-named I wonder) excellent for gentle cleaning jobs on upholstery/fabics and have used on the hard top lining and other white interior trim of the TR. Tim Bancroft
Baby oil is a great idea. Sounds like a hard work job, but one that will be rewarding.
Craig
Old toothbrush dunked in a warm water and then dabbed in a pot of bicarbonate of soda will work a treat. I did an entire interior with that - takes a while - working the brush in in small circles, but the results are worth it. No need for nasty chemical cleaners. Another tip I recently came across was vaseline to brighten up hard plastic interior trim. I've tried it on the moulded plastic cover for the indicators and lights lever on the steering column, also the rubber boot on the hand brake lever it has given them a shine. I have even tried it on the cover fitted to the hood storage area, again has given it a shine. No idea how long it will last. I might try it on the hood itself, a vinyl one, although mine is quite good and spends its life out of sight.
RobPearce
I can't remember what I used to clean up the seats I got for the Spitfire, when I first fitted them, before having them refurbished. It wasn't anything desperately fancy - maybe a generic kitchen cleaner. It did a good job. I might try Cif on the Vitesse.

ferny
I've never tried it on interior parts, but I use linseed oil on my vans bumpers. It's 16 years old, the lower half is black plastic, done 300k and I last coated it a couple of years ago. People still ask if they're new bumpers.
