mowerman
Is a Duplex timing chain and sprockets a straight forward replacement fit for the single version on a vitesse.?
Jason
Pretty much - if you move anything (which you are likely too) you are messing with cam timing and so it's best to be prepared to do that job too - I wouldn't consider it a "stand alone job" personally
mowerman
Thanks Jason, not a stand alone job tho`, part of a complete engine rebuild. Steve.
Richard B
Yes, but you need the deeper timing chain cover from a 2500 engine.
Deleted User
hey hang on that's easy! You don't need anything at all. The timing cover is the same, the timing comes out identical because it's the same cam in the 2.5Pi anyway, the ONLY thing is...the chain is wider so you can use a TR4 OR TR5 chain tensioner. The chain doesn't stretch anthing like the rubbishy thing on the 2L and you can forget about maintenance for the foreseeable future. Finally you can do it in situ, but you need to raise the engine a little to be able to remove the damper...no big deal! I can't see what everyone is moaning about...it's max a 3hr job...fit and forget...they should have had that from the factory the miserable skimpers at Canley!!!!
