Martin M
Hi,somehow there is now a Herald Estate in the garage ;) .Restoration has to wait, however I wanted to remove seats and (scruffy) carpets.I´m not able to fold the rear seats. What is my fault.Cheers Martin
Casper
First suggestion is to try harder!First undo the two bolts holding it in position (I hope you've tried that). Then give it a firm pull forwards. The seat base is hinged and should move forward at the same time as the squab moves forwards. I guess it might just be stiff.Congratulations on your acquisition !From the inside, the bottoms of your C posts look sound. That's a bonus.C. Martin M
Hi Casper, thanks, does the base only move forward or does it fold? There are two very rusty mountings below the seat base at the rear.Martin

marktheherald
Sounds like the pivots are seized. The base should move forwards as the squab is folded forward. You will need fingers like E.T to work on this! http://www.canleyclassics.com/?xhtml=xhtml/diagram/herald1360rearseatestate.html&xhtmlcatalogue=xhtml/catalogue/herald1360.html&category=bodyandfittings&xsl=diagram.xsl
