Isn't there a link between first and reverse ona single rail, as I remember always being told to always pause a long time if going between one and the other on the single rail. Matt commented on your first being taller, is it a Marina gearset or a GT6 one? Cheers Colin Colin I believe its a Gt6 one.... does about 60 in 1st ;D Cheers Alex
  2. Maybe I'm missing something here......all Capri's except the last of the line 280 brooklands had 13" wheels anyway, the 280 had seven spokes similar to the 2.8i special but in 15" not 13". If I've missed the point ignore me. Cheers Alex

    Coil

3647 wrote:Well I just want to thank everyone for of their help, advice, time and patience. I know have a beautifully running spitfire. Never idled to well and doesn't miss a beat. I'm not sure what finally did it because I changed the coil, leads, plugs and dizzy cap!!! It then started first time. Just need to keep fingers crossed for MOT on Tuesday now. Thanks again everyone. Barry Well done for sticking at it Barry. Once its mot'd it may be worth you swapping the bits back one at a time so you know what it was and which bits to hang onto as spares. Good luck with the mot!! Alex

    Coil

Well would that not mean the coil is outputting and that its a problem at the dizzy end? I tried to measure my coil output at cranking and its not constant enough to measure, its anywhere between 8 and 12v....

Is this measured at the output of the coil?

I dont think it matters if you have fitted a 12v or 6v coil at this time. The issue seems to me to be that there is no spark when cranking. The ballast resistor being bypassed should'nt change this just the strength of the spark. If the coil is registering 12v then power is getting to it,if its still not sparking then the only other thing I'd have thought would be that when cranking the power is being cut...this would mean a fault from the 12v supply feed? Anyone tell me if my theory sounds right so I dont start leading Barry in the wrong direction? Cheers Alex

    Raising Exhaust

Bainzy.....do you have a nut n bolt missing from your prop to diff flange? It certainly looks like it..... Where are your silencers....your y piece looks a bit far back to mecan you slide it over the centre pipe some more or even slide the centre pipe forward creating the same solution?
  13. I've got the corbeau buckets and find them realy comfy. There not very wide and dont recline but for me theyre perfect ,I'm 5.9 and not a lardie by any stretch but my mate is over 6ft and not skinny and he did a rbrr in them no trouble.Unfortunately my girls car seats dont fit them so it looks like I'm going to be selling them off. I have a 1500 spitfire passenger seat fitted at the moment for the girls to use but dont have a drivers seat.Once I do then I have to decide sell my buckets or put them in the roof until the girls are big enough not to need booster seats.
  14. A helicoil will solve the problem with your head stud.....been there! ;)
