  1. There is no restart in Merano, you just set off and go!
  2. Ooooh UK entries have doubled !! That makes 5 CT entries so far. Steve Radley Don Cook René Claessens Theo Boonen Roger Hoogmans
  3. Yes!!! First UK entry is in, a big thank you to team Gerty for being brave and crossing the pond!! Who will be next?? 🙂
  4. Quoted from Sheepy Second that about the beer! There is a B&B just down our street, (will have to check how many rooms they have) then we can have a BBQ and some beers/laughs the night before (plus any last minute car checks!
  5. Entries are open for the 14th edition already of the infamous "Nacht van het Oosten" nightrally, for most of you better known as the "Chinese Rally" !  For those who don't know, It's a 180KM navigation rally that leads through the darkest roads of the eastern part of the Netherlands. It's not about speed, it's all about having fun with your road car. There are two competition classes, first the easy one which only involves navigating by tulips. Second there is the more challenging class which also includes mapreading and speed regularyties, As in previous editions, start and finish will be at a Chinese restaurant and of course there will be a healty buffet before you take off! All details: Date : Saturday 11th March Start + finish : Restaurant Hong Kong City Wesepe http://www.hkcity-wesepe.nl/ Dinner starts 16.30, rally starts 18.00 Entree fee: € 27,50 per car. Dinner: € 17,50 pp (all in) If you would like to join in, please send me a PM with all details about driver, co-driver, car + reg.no and if you would like to compete in the "Tour" or "Sports" class.   Would be great to see many UK entrants in 2017! Roger
  6. Hmmm that gives me an idea. Fit a towbar to the PI, and take the GT6 on a trailer as a back up car..... 😎
  7. Plan is to take the 2.5PI. All it needs is the heater matrix replaced and get the engine running again. Last time it ran was three years ago, so all should be fine 😉
  8. Seems that Julian and I are keeping the CT spirit up! Still 60 entries this year, so it will be another good one. Maybe next year we'll have some UK entrants joining in.
  9. I only have to fill it up with petrol to double it's value!
  10. Good luck with RDW! Is there a chassisnumber visible on the actual chassis? If not you have to arrange that as well with RDW. Mine is a UK car and only had the identificationplate on the body, which isn't enough to get a Dutch registration. Once you've got it on the road, you should get in touch. We have our unofficial local Triumph group and organise some events during the year. Would be good to see another GT6!
  11. That's not far from where I am! Your GT6 does look really nice, you've done a great job on the restoration.
  12. Just to confirm the correct date as there seems to be an error in the club mag. The event finds place on saturday 19th of March.

    Carb kits

Burlen is fine, though communication can be an issue. Personally I buy my SU kits from Southern Carburettors, Roy is a nice guy, never let me down.
  14. Dutch or Chinese required !!   You'll be fine with English, no problem.
  15. Oooh still very quiet on the other side of the pond. Good news, the first CT entry is in!!   01: Roger Hoogmans - Jos Diender    # Triumph GT6 mkIII
  16. I found this Stromberg needle chart, maybe it's of any use to you. http://www.lotuselan.net/w/images/1/10/Stromberg_needle.xls
  17. I'm pleased to announce the already 13th edition of the Dutch nightrally Nacht van het Oosten, maybe better known as the Dutch Chinese rally! This year Rutger has named the rally "50 shades of Darkness" so I recon it will be another hot edition! The rally will find place on saturday 19th of March starting from a new location in the far east of our humble country! As before you can expect a 200km run that takes you down to the smallest and darkest roads available. You can either start in "touring" class for simple tulip navigation or "sporting" for the more experienced! As in previous editions there will be a Dutch/Chinese buffet before the first car takes off at 18.00. All details: Date : Saturday 19th March Start + finish : Restaurant Hong Kong City Wesepe http://www.hkcity-wesepe.nl/ Dinner starts 16.30, rally starts 18.00 Entree fee: € 27,50 per car. Dinner: € 17,50 pp (all in) If you would like to join in, please send me a PM with all details about driver, co-driver, car and reg.no. Would be great to see many UK entrants! Roger

    HS4 carb issue

Wim, if your engine is running rich at idle it's well worth replacing the jets. It's the jets that wear, not the needles. You really should measure CO levels as it will tell you something about the condition of your carbs.
  19. I know how he drives, a good reason to not enter the event with him!

    Float levels

Thanks Julian for confirming. Will set them "as usual" and all will be fine!

    Float levels

Working on a friends Stag carburettors at the moment. Now he has been told te float levels for a Stag should be set different compared to other cars that are fitted with Stromberg 175CD carbs. Normally I set float levels to 17mm. Can't find anything about it on the web, so maybe anyone on here can help out. Thanks, Roger
  22. Nope, you've misread that. It's the Belgian 2000 ( Dirk?) that's out with a blown diff.
  23. Hope things are sorted and the beast keeps running. See you at the start! Give me a shout if you are in need of spares 🙂
