Sorry, slight thread drift, Andy, You'd be the man to know, can a cam change be done on a Mk1 without removing the engine? Or does the nose cone prevent this?

The clue is in the spring. Look closely at one the end of the spring. :) (I know because Steve brought it round to me and we took my spare one apart to compare)

After much faffing about yesterday I came to realise that the centre section I have been trying to fit on my Red Mk1 is in fact one for an automatic. This probably will fit with an auto downpipe, but as my luck would have it, I have a manual one! Does anyone know where I might get either an auto downpipe, or a manual centre section? Or does anyone have one they no longer require. I know CW does both, but I'm hoping to find something a bit less costly. :)

The clue here is how many Mk2's you see with TR6 wheels compared to how many Mk1's you see with them. :) Mk2's have a wider track than the Mk1.

Perhaps your Stag was already spot on Steve? I've used Mowatts and can thoroughly recommend them and I know that Mike Helm speaks highly of them as well.
