  1. The "website" section works well for event entry etc but the "forum" section is slow, and not user friendly which is illustrated by the dramatic drop in usage since it was introduced. Bruce
  2. Great, thanks for organising the T shirts again. Our team have now placed our order. Regards  Bruce
  3. Hi My suggestions are as follows:- Fast load speed Full screen width Comprehensive search facility List of posts since you last logged on A streamlined set of groups. I.e. given the commonality between a Spitfire and GT6 it makes sense to have them in the same product section The aspect of the current set up I do like related to the features for the Area Organisers. Hopefully that can be retained/incorporated I to the new site? Finally, given that a lot of the club forums successfully use the safe software, doesn't it make sense to adopt the same software? Regards Bruce
  4. Hi Chris No sweat. Twice is better than not at all! Regards  Bruce
  5. If GPS tracking is used for logging and so there are no marshals at the stops where crews won't be stopping for fuel etc ie Carter Bar, what stops crews from departing too early? Is there not a risk it becomes too much like a race? Bruce
  6. Do the volunteers on the checking in desks have to be CT club members? Regards Bruce
  7. Our entry submission all went smoothly at 6:30am, with it all being done and dusted  within 5 minutes. Well done to the organisers and IT team. Regards Bruce😄

    hardtop

There is no need to have the rear pin fitted on  a Stag hardtop as it's so bloody heavy and has six other points of engagement. Lots of us remove the rear pin to eliminate the risk of it damaging the bootlid paintwork during removal and refitment. The hardtop engages along the top of the windscreen, the top of both B posts and also in the holes behind the B posts. I suggest yours is sitting up at the rear because it's not engaged correctly in the top of the B posts and the levers are not locked behind the B posts. Get somebody yo help you and give it all a good shove to get it sitting correctly Good luck Bruce
  9. I agree with the comment about the bonnet going on as late as possible. It just gets in the way otherwise. When I did our GT6 estoration I was driving the complete car around the farmyard minus it's bonnet Bruce
  10. One road side failure I missed off my earlier list was the clutch slave cylinder on our GT6. One minute I had a clutch and the next I didn't! Fortunately it occurred about 1/2 mile  from our house so a short tow was arranged  The cylinder was only about 6 years old. Bruce
  11. An excellent idea for a thread. Here are my experiences of roadside failures over the past 13 years of Triumph ownership GT6 Lucas Dizzy cap cracked on two seperate occasions Wiper arm spring sheared   STAG Fuel pump failed on two seperate occasions Carb diaphragm split  Rotor arm blown Diff extension bearing failed (bugger all you can do about that at the roadside!)   Regards Bruce
  12. Andy Hopefully your problems with water leaks will soon be at an end! I went down the belt driven external water pump route about 5 years ago. All the best Regards  Bruce
  13. Andy Hopefully your problems with water leaks will soon be at an end! I went down the belt driven external water pump route about 5 years ago. All the best Regards  Bruce
  14. Again it looks a superb route and it's an event that is on my to do list once our son is old enough to be left in charge of the house whilst my wife and I are away for a week. Good luck to all the participants. Regards  Bruce
  15. Aye Dale and myself thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.  Thanks for organising it. Regards Bruce
  16. Hi Chris Am I correct in thinking the route mileage is approximately 400 miles? Regards Bruce
  17. I see the on-line total has passed £80k🙂 Great news   Bruce
  18. Our holiday plans for next year have changed and as a consequence I will be available for the Border Raider 2019😎. There will be a spare fuel pump in the boot this time😛 Bruce
  19. Hi All Can anybody suggest a source of Toggle style switches which will fit a Triumph dashboard with just the drilling of a suitably sized hole? All the ones I have found to date don't have a long enough threaded section to protrude through the wood and still fit the locking nut. I want to avoid removing the dash to rout out the back. Thanks Bruce
  20. Looks a fun event. How often is it held? Regards Bruce
  21. Hi Sean I was sad on Sunday when I read a message that said you were out. I was looking forward to having a chat with you before the start but that wasn't possible given your time of arrival. Then we dropped out at Stirling with an over fuelling issue and headed home at a our own rate so that ruled out chatting at one of the stops. I believe my brother and Chris Jenkins both had a quick word with you at Wetherby on Friday evening?    Like you we will be back in 2020 Regards  Bruce
  22. Hi Ian Useful information for us first timers Thanks Bruce
