Had come from the PO with the full Weber Alpha system (Revington installed) but plenty of issues. Nick Very suprised at Neil Revington sanctioning the fitment of 50's Neil knows dam well the Triumph 46's are too big for EFI use. Coz thats what he told me before I used them. Recon the guy insisted on 50's.

jcarruthers wrote: Which are way too massive for a tiny 1.5? Do they sell chokes? Actually I was not being completly serious as they are a not insignifigant financial commitment. You need to get your brain away from carburetors, engine management is a completly different animal. Chokes are for carburetors they do'nt work on throttle bodies. Chokes are used to increase air speed over a jet not reduce airflow, which is a full throttle side effect. And they do work on a 1.5 a mate has 40mm Weber Alpha's on a Spit.

  5. 796 wrote: have you got one of those bigggg English wheels, cos they dont arf take up alot of room One in a engineering shop I no, and its about 6 foot across. One of the local Bombardier factories near me dumped one of those a while back. I inquired with a friend who worked in their Belfast plant about it and was told it was completly tied up in red tape and disposal contractor had to destroy everything they removed.
  6. Mini rear valance. Okay, you need to set it in in three sections but cheap as chips.
  7. 6126 wrote: Not sure if you can even buy new spring, doubt it. Might have to make do or tie some balloons to it :) A skyhook ? My 72 Gt6 did that broken torsion spring.
  8. uksnatcher wrote:I sold mine on advertised as 'Weller style' wheels sold for 175.00 so payed for the new steelies (or was it the Revolutions??? ) ...too many wheels to play with... :P Heres another option....13" Metro GTi alloys...eek..! (they are at the back of my shed...gathering dust ;) ) 15 inch version of those a la Maestro Montego.

    Gasket sealing

I use grease on paper or card gaskets. I used to build fuel transfer pumps, manifolds, and metering units on bulk fuel tankers using greased gasket method none of those leaked and fuel can easily find leaks

  11. esxefi wrote: mines the same and it sounds restricted at high revs from what i heard on a video a friend had taken, think i'll buy some bends and a straight length and tack one up myself, would really like a transverse silencer with twin tail pipes but that won't be cheap :-/ Mine does not sound restricted infact she yowles when on song. It's just that I know from past experience what an unrestricted system can do. Used to have 6 into two 1,3/4 inch systems on a Gt6. Lost a lot of grunt when they rotted off.
  12. 2402 wrote:+150hp so im told. Chris. Acording to Dave Walker the absoloute limit on a two inch system is 200 bhp.
  13. 2402 wrote: Its about 2" right through. Ive just found out I need at least 2.25- 2.5" for my zetec Se engine I need to go up to 2.5 inch system on my Gt6 as well, as the 2 inch straight through system currently fitted is restrictive.

  15. If it is a late 2ltr with dome top pistons, recessed block with a thick ridge at the bottom right side of the block then yes it will have a 2500 head.

I once worked for a company who had maintainance contracts with large oil distributors for repairs on fuel tankers. Any fuel transfer pump , metering unit, filter housing  or manifold I built using grease never leaked. In fact when one needed doing it was me got put on it. Fuel is great for creating leaks. One day I was round with our parts suppliers who also did a lot of repair work. Their foreman said to me " Oh you are the guy who builds the pumps that dont leak, we can never get them not to leak."
