  1. wouldn't be a pig to organise two running side by side..all the two organising teams would need to do is agree the meet up points/times ..and away they go ..plan..meet back up ,,discuss..bit of fettling and hey presto...simples..but whether you'd get enough entries for both is another matter or ,if the event was flexible enough to allow easier options to be fitted in by whoever wanted to do so ,without failling to 'finish' the event..then only one event needs to be organised And i'm sure the BMC may be organising something next year
  2. same thoughts on the check points....Bob king and i went out to marshall on the 09 we had two marshall point and even we couldn't get to the second on time and we were in  a fast modern .It does take a lot of effort to organise a road event ..but sometimes it can be over organised ..and that can take the fun out of it a bit for the drivers we went out for our own celebration of the 10th anniversary ..with the aim to follow the original route etc..but on the sat we thought ..begger this we'll go and do stelvio..then when we got to the top we thought begger  driving throught the night we'll stay in a hotel at the top .I know it's not a straight comparison to the 10cr, as we were on a private road run ..but leaving  a bit more flexability in the 10cr would be a good thing ...be less work for the overworked organisers too
  3. i thought they were 500kmph cameras..try as we might we couldn't quite reach those speeds
  4. Ferny ...haven't you left school yet?..pull a sickie ..dentist or summit It does seem to be heading more in the tour direction ..albeit a busy tour .maybe time to evolve into summit else .and we've all got unfinished business somewhere ...but we can always pop over and finish that business at our own convenience..did just that the other weekend
  5. That'll be up to him...but yes...but might wait till he can at least reach the pedals..
  6. Doh...not only does the date clash with an antiques fair..get roundable, but is day after someones 1st birhtday and we're having a small bash so i def won't be there

  8. It's a shame the 'two fat ladies' won't be riding again this sept...Colin is currently unemployed and can't afford to come ..so me and Katie'll have to do our best to recreate the atmosphere
  9. it won't load up on my computer,,,but hey ho...never mind ...it's diff to capture the spirit of the original run on the web anyway..you had to be there...will be doing our best to recapture that spirit in 4 weeks time in one of the original cars

  16. I think some people are using the saloons more as they are getting a bit softer with age..myself included....but as for 2 or 3 drivers ..it don't matter ,done it several times 2 up ad as long as you gets your rest in the passenger side you're fine . .you'd be amazed what fun you can have in a herald..they can hustle along with a bit of encouragement
  17. It looks like the entrants will get the 'official' route about 2 weeks before  [from the chat that's gone on] if the suggested route goes anywhere near the tunnel it'll be worth taking a detour just for the grin facter by the sounds of it

    Snapped Rocker?!

we ..well my daughter did a similar thing ...going round le mans....and that was due to valve recession closing the gap and me not checking them, rocker on no 3 broke ...we actually managed to melt the piston ..but after replacing it the engine was fine...so as others have said ..clean it up fit new rocker and hey presto,....that'll be the cheapest if he's a bit cash strapped
