  1. Repair/adjust what you have to get the door fit correct first before replacing the rear wings or it'll never be right whatever you do. Mark
  2. MX-5 works well, and cheap and plentiful. M.

    rear seat belts

Valid point but probably better than nothing. M.
  4. I'd also check the oil pressure switch and if ok arrange for a bottom end overhaul as it is unlikely to be pump alone.  Sorry to be bearer of bad news. Mark
  5. Worst case scenario is it's dropped a thrust washer on the crank but that wouldn't make any difference hot or cold.  My hunch is it's the wrong clutch for that car, or you've only fitted part of the clutch.  The other thing is that the release arm might be fractured causing it to flex? M.
  6. The clutch hydraulics are unlikely to be responsible for the clutch slip unless it's dumping fluid onto the clutch itself.  It may be the cause of difficulty getting 1st & Reverse. When you fitted the clutch did you fit the drive plate the correct way round?  They used to be marked front but it's 36 years since I fitted a Herald clutch! Mark
  7. Not sure on springs, never taken one apart.  PM me if you're stuck and I'll get someone to look whilst we're away. M.
  8. New latch?  Is it painted or chromed.  I may have one spare but we're not back in England until September. Mark
  9. Dave Pearson rarely gets it wrong, he has a presence on this forum and a loyal customer base, I'd doubt that they'd be bad. M.
  10. Vac pipe dropped off perhaps? Mark
  11. Why did you want to change from the Webers? M.
  12. eBay, Canley's, loads of people still do them as far as I know... Mark
  13. Probably a low compression unit at that although 40 odd years later, who knows? Mark
  14. Is that what is known as a "nibbler"? Mark
  15. Now you've gone that far, you may as well get the engine refurbished.  I used Sutton Rebore to do mine. Mark
  16. Rebuild the old one, it'll last that way. M.
  17. Rebuild the old one, it'll last that way. M.
  18. Uniroyal is what mine has, seem OK.  Better than the Dunlop C41 crossplies that it had prior to the restoration!!!   M.
  19. Pah!  That piston'll polish out.....  I've araldited them together before and they've lasted years!!!   M.
  20. I have a good used one (pair of grilles) in exchange for beer tokens..... Mark
