Electronic Ignition.

I'm looking at buying an electrical ignition dizzy from simonbbc.com and at just over 50 quid the Powermax looks pretty good value.

Has anybody fitted one of these. Are they any good? Are they a simple replacement for the standard set up? Just easy plug and play installation? Any pitfalls i should look out for??
Any advice / pointers much appreciated

Hello Jamie,

have a look at this link on his website, scroll down to the section on jump starting which advises a particular method. My other reservation is whether the advance curve\vacuum module suit your engine, as he doesn't specify for a particular engine?

Hello Jamie.

I purchased an electronic ignitiion unit (not dizzy) from Simonbbc - I have to say it's excellent and touch wood, not a problem.

Much better starting, fuel economy and more reliable running throughout the rev range.

It really is a fit & forget experience.

Additionally, I added a Lucas sports coil which seems to have improved the set-up.

Hope that helps ??

Regards.

Richard.
