JamieY
I'm looking at buying an electrical ignition dizzy from simonbbc.com and at just over 50 quid the Powermax looks pretty good value.http://www.simonbbc.com/distributors/4-cylinder?sort=20a&filter_id=1Has anybody fitted one of these. Are they any good? Are they a simple replacement for the standard set up? Just easy plug and play installation? Any pitfalls i should look out for??Any advice / pointers much appreciated
piman
Hello Jamie, have a look at this link on his website, scroll down to the section on jump starting which advises a particular method. My other reservation is whether the advance curve\vacuum module suit your engine, as he doesn't specify for a particular engine?Alec
Deleted User
JamieI've got one on my Vitesse Mk2 saloon. In New Zealand you can source them branded as "dizzytek" from Quality Rebuilds in CHCH. I have nothing but praise for the ease of starting, quality idle when cold and warm, and best of all, the economy improved after it was fitted.-prc. heralddolly
Hello Jamie.I purchased an electronic ignitiion unit (not dizzy) from Simonbbc - I have to say it's excellent and touch wood, not a problem.Much better starting, fuel economy and more reliable running throughout the rev range. It really is a fit & forget experience.Additionally, I added a Lucas sports coil which seems to have improved the set-up.Hope that helps ??Regards.Richard.
