Alex
You'll find a circlip behind the rubber seal squeeze and remove then the rod etc should drop out.
Clive
drop out indeed!!! should but usually don't. Tap it down on a firm wood block (not a paving slab!) and it should then come out, maybe fast, may take a few goes.As Alex says, no good unless you take the circlip out first!Lids, try the usual traders, they may be able to supply them, but may take a little bit of finding.Clive
thescrapman
A convenient ARMCO post in teh middle of Germany (or was it Italy) will also do if all else fails......On the clutch you can get away with not using the extension, it was designed for Disk brake systems on heralds and spitfires where the fluid drops rapidly as teh pads wear. You may find you neeed to push teh cylinder in a bit so it has a run up at passing the crud stuck up teh bore as it comes out.A light hone with a bit of fine wet and dry soaked in brake fluid will also do marvels.CheersColin
rotoflex
To expel the innards from hydraulic cylinders, I've found that the momentum from a long (not neccessarily fast or hard) tennis-like swing to whop it against a soft block of wood works better than just tapping it.
