Goody
Have a friend who has a TR 10. He has been told his diff is shot. Needs new ring and pinion. What if any are out their and what if any outher will interchange? Spit, GT6?
Keith
Hi Bill,The innards should be interchangeable with one from a Herald or related model, if you can find one with the right ratio. The Standard motor club may be more able to help.Keith
heraldcoupe
I "think" the standard ratio is 4.875:1, which is the same as Herald 948 Saloon. I know there was a lower ratio too, (5.135:1?) but from memory that applied to the Standard 8 rather than the 10.The diff assembly from the pre-1967 Heralds (small shaft diff) will fit into the Standard 10 axle casing and mate with it's halfshafts. Cheers,Bill.
rotoflex
Heralds are not very numerous on this side. Goody may need to contact a specialist like Quantum Mechanics to get something together:http://www.quantumechanics.com/
Goody
Thanks everyone. The car is not mine. I will pass the info along. If Andy Mace reads this I think it's the red 10 that Steve O had at the last VTR meet in California.
