molten
HelloI dont know whether to renew both flingers (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-128469)on driveshafts or re-use old ones.I know that these simply slide over d/shaft to specific distance from end of thread and hold in place turning with d/shaft rotating around the trunnions inboard seal. Can they be re-used though without problems. Thanks

Pete Lewis
often a loose fit once removed, you can reducew the dia by giving a nice fitting socket a whack or when all is assembled sick it in place with some firm silicon sealer it is only a sh1t shield to keep crud from the trunnion end seal Pete
molten
HelloI had thought about putting a couple of small welding tacks on each - tack could simply be knocked off if/when necessary. Bad idea???Polyurathane sealant could be a good idea though. Thanks for your comments fella's

He had a shaft snap (which also colapses the suspension) on his late Mk 3 Gt6 the shaft snaped just at the tack welds obviously the welding had made the shaft brittle at that point. Do not do it.
