Tim Bancroft
Andy Pearce,As you are fully versed in the prep. of old cars for these long distance events, could you do some messages/articles/notes to help crews? How about an article for Club Torque?CheersTim B
Raider
:D And how about the history of the NGK spark plug? :DOne thing I would recommend after recent events is a decent car compass even if we have proper road signs as opposed to jihnny foreigner land! ::)
Deleted User
Tim,over the last few months have writtin a load of stuff for Martin on car prep which he is going to use in the competition corner of the mag, would also like to add that I broke all my own rules on the 10CR just to prove you do need decent prep! the big red bus is now back on six and running like a dream! shame I didnt have the R+D time before the evnt! never mind read my prep notes in CT ! Luke
;DMy only advice about preparation after 3 european tours and 3 RBRR's is use your car every day and don't forget to grease your nipples if you a Herald driver!! Could prove Vital if you forget the latter!! :o
Raider
;D I remember when commenting that it is important to grease niplles that a young lady asked me whether that was an instruction or a request! :D
Raider
:) I think the greasing of nipples deserves a more apprpriate venue - see the Herald and Vitesse section.

Ellis
On the subject of preparation, I think one of ours is we may be buying an additional car.... I did see a really nice MkII 2500S today - engine sounded lovely.... I was then promptly dragged away by my ear and told "NO!!!" - which actually translated to, "Well not when I'm with you and when you do I won't speak to you for a week).... so it may have to be done....Anyone got a spare room in case I got the translation wrong ???Ellis
Deleted User
I have a spare room! Good idea the 2500S these are the cars for long distance, built like brick out houses, can run on 5 cylinders! and I have lots of bits for them!

Deleted User
Right the best prep for the RBR is to go and get a Triumph2000-if you can find one an Estate would be best..and I know where there is one going cheapish!
