JohnD Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Okay, my car in sixth form was a Morris 8 convertible. And that's not a V8 if anyone doesn't know, but a miserable side valve four cylinder with less than 20bhp, but great character. I did an enormous mileage in it, it was called "Maybelline" and Jimmy Saville mentioned it on his Radio Luxemburg programme!John
Jason Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 That post wasn't by me and I never had a Morris Minor convertible, I had a 2 door saloon :-)

What more could a 'young person' want?[/quote]A neon tube, sub-woofers, metallic paint ... ::)As for 6th form, car ownership was a long way off for me :(
Deleted User Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I had a MK2 Vauxhall Astra 1300. It seemed so fast then, probably isn't really. Incidentaly I have never had a car younger than me :)Sorry Jason, Fake Jason led me up the garden path!
Deleted User Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Pfft, no-one needs neons, sub-woofers and metallic paint etc, it's a driving machine not a nightclub :DOne of my friends has a Moggie Minor saloon. He seems to think it's alot better than my 13/60. I can't agree with him at all... Herald looks better, goes better, handles better, cheaper to run and insure (depending on how you drive it!), parts are easier to get hold of...Any views on this topic at all? I guess that it'll be somewhat biased on a Triumph forum :DI would have liked my 6th form car to have been a GT6 Mk3 or a 2.5PI, but insurance is a killer even on a GT6 for a young 'un.
GreenV8Machine Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 i had the coolest car in 6th form. magenta GT6. everyone had quiet little 900ccs or 1.2s and then tere was me with a 2ltr that shook the common room windows :D
Deleted User Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 he he same here 1st a mk IV spit that was ear bleeding loud! then a big yellow beast came along in the spring with a roaring 2L PI under the bonnet, damn the girls loved it:D:D half od them didnt believe it was mine even when got inside it :Dlol
Deleted User Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 I wish I coulda had a GT6, I'd have put the +2 seats in though... mainly so I could take out a legless friend of mine lol. But seriously, a GT6 would have been lovely.
