  1. CDs!!! None of that modern jazz in my car, its either talk/chat, snooring or the sound of a six cylinder engine at full chat! Not alot to do to the saloon, apart from some welding to the sills again!
  2. Make sure that you tightened up all the suspension fastenings when the car is loaded, i.e the suspension was under load. Prinicipally the trunnion bolt, the radius arm bolts and the shocker bolts. To do this, I lift the car under the vertical link until it just starts to lift off the axle stands and then tighten up to the prescribed torque settings.
  3. SAH ones look bloomin' nice. Otherwise, you can't beat a std item! 6 pot chromed Std Tri jobbies are nice.
  4. Blimey, that was freezing, blasted aerodromes, so cold!!! Well done to Matt Helm (again)!! However, James Cooper and me won our classes, so not so bad. Commiserations to Andy Martin, his diff blew up. Performance of the day, Richard Brake taking his saloon around. Sight of the day: Supermarine Spitfire taking off and landing!
  5. Nick, Rivets! Come on where are the photos. The only downer about your car is that most of us will not get to see the car in the flesh, so to speak!!!
  6. Looking at the Entry last night, reckon thsi event will be a proper Triumph V MG battle! CT entries: Hayley Bloomfield: Spitfire James Cooper: Spitfire Matt Helm: Spitfire Mark Bland: Spitfire Andy Martin: Vitesse Richard Brake: 2.5Pi Mike Helm: TR6 James Carruthers: GT6 Tim Bancroft: GT6 Should be a great day.
  7. Lovely stuff, what a nice car. Reckon the fans will be fine. Are you taking to the Alps, if so, think about the silicon brake fluid. I had a bad experience with that stuff in the Alps back in 2005 boiling up, think about using conventional fluid. Fantastic car and I hope that you have a great time driving her.
  8. I hope to take part in this event using the GT6. All going to be touch and go as at present as I have stripped out the rear suspension and diff to get the chassis repaired around the diff area. The areas where the rear lugs of the diff mount in the chassis have closed onto the diff, the consequence being that the diff bush tubes have broken through effectively trapping the diff. Spent a happy hour last night drilling the bush tubes out with a 14mm drill piece, after much banging and levering I managed to get the diff out. James Cooper is popping over to weld some thick washers in place that will hopefully locate the diff. Once done, the GT6 will be back on the road following its lengthy repairs!!
  9. We had a chat and decided that the admin fee was not necessary!
  10. 2.5Pi mk1 (SU); Change back to Pi-er nah! Otherwise re-furb the Revolution wheels and fit some trim that is still to be done following the paint job in 2007!!! (Umm, might need to ask Richard and James to do some sill welding). One thing I am dead pleased about is how fast she seemed on the A3 coming back from Goodwood on Monday evening, the new head is working well!! Thanks to AJP and Roy Burrell!
  11. Unfortunately Pat cannot make the event this time. Shame, boy does he commit to the event, coming all the way from the USA.
  12. Not sure about the shagged out tyre idea, grip is needed and old tyres or cheap tyres do not offer much in the way of stickey contact! Must admit it was fun driving the saloon and was amazed to have got 10th overall. However I have done alot of these events so I should finish well. Cars of the day: James C's mega wotsits 2000 (sounds so different these days), Matt's Spittie and of course all the cars that took part in the 10CR-multi-versed or what!
  13. Alan, You are not wrong. Keith Petit has won the CSMA 'solo for the last two years-bloomin' fast!!! Chris Benoy is the chap in the Clan-very smooooooooth. Be interesting to see how it all goes. We run the event to the same model that Oxford MC run to, very easy to accomodate changes and car sharing. Most important thing is that all keep pace with the event and do not dawdle-especially when walking to the Marshal posts!!! I'll be using the foghorn to keep people running!!!!!
  14. Blimey, need to look at the doormat better!!! Here you go, lastest and possibly the final listing. One place yet to go. The big question is who will challenge Matt?
  15. Can't send out Finals until the 'Entry' closes. However 57no. entries at present, as attached listing. The event is dominated by Spitfires! Should be good fun. Nigel has designed the Tests, all left is for me to print all the entry gubbins.
  16. Mike, I have been using a Huco engine compartment pump in my mk2 GT6 for sometime and must say I am happy with the thing-its mounted on the engine valance, not the block. Have'nt used it in the Alps, but good whilst in Scotland in June before the accident. I will change the route of the fuel pipe and stick that onto the engine bulkhead when I get the car back. Very pleased to hear that you completed the event, I reckon the car is a beaut! In fact pleased that all GT6s completed the 10CR-still my fave Triumph! Really missing mine now!
  17. Tim, Don't delay in getting your entry form to me, as we now have 55no entries. All, BTW 11no big saloons at present.
  18. Good news Mike. You should have given me the envelope on Thursday morn, a few of us Non-10CR types are marshaling!
  19. Dave, I will post a listing of entries soon. Thanks for volunteering to help.
  20. I think we will get about 40no entries, down on last time. Really looking forward to the event, as long as its dry I am sure we will have fun!
