  1. Sorry Yogi, cannot change the route now as the Road Book is at the printers. Most Entrants on the Sunday afternoon are looking for simple roads to use as they just want to get back, one or two nursing poorly cars. We have simplified the route the Wiltshire/Hants border, mainly major A or Motorway roads. See you at the DM?
  2. The Stretch does exist, I have seen the thing! I just hope Dave ain't reading this!
  3. Just realised that 12 of those cars are still owned by their drivers!!! I understand that someone is buying back one of the cars? Gawd, does this mean that Mr Pearson will bring the 'Stretch' out of retirement???
  4. 10 years on, er that may cause issues! Gawd help anyone having a dip that sees some of those sights-ugh!
  5. Plus Sam Shattock, Craig Gingell, Dave Walker's brother and of course Keith Bennett. Graham Reeks will struggle! Is Quentin still into Triumph cars? Where exactly do you intend meeting?
  6. Nick, The hole just below, is that the same size and thread size? You will need the fixing if you intend to fix inertia seat belts.
  7. Julia, Roy's wife has told me that she will have a selection of cakes available at Gledrid-nice one Julia! Mike, You going to be providing any food at Blyth or Tebay? Nice one!
  8. I'd go for the timber! Flippant answer, but it works!
  9. Carry a piece of 1 x 1'' timber?
  10. Stuart, Let Jason know asap. We experience quite a few car changes at this point of the run up to the event and it can be difficult keeping up with them all. Thanks.
  11. I have had my mk2 since I was 22, now 51 and will never get rid, its part of me and my life. Driving the car is so instinctive, still love it. JOhn, that is a good decision not to sell. My only worry is that they are starting to hit higher prices and that will stop the young uns being able to buy them. They are such a small car that in these days of larger people I imagine many people who are in the later stages of life will not be able to fit into them! This will rule out the people who wish to have an old British sports car, they'll all buy TRs. Good advantage is that they will become feasible to restore, however so many have been bodged! JS Bulmer: Like the look of the reddish mk1, good luck and keep us all in touch with the resto.
  12. I have not had any problems using the type that Chris Witor markets, these are an Australian make of mounting. Bit pricer than the cheapo, cheapo types that many sell, but well worth the extra cost. I have not subjected my car to the type of use either Dazzer or Graham have done, but no problems, fitted in 2005 and the car has done 35,000 miles since then.
  13. Hi Fudge, The Club does have some photos of the garage as it used to be the start of the RBRR. However all these are film photos, and not cannot be e-mailed. I will have a look around and see what we have. Can I ask why?

Keith, I could take some snaps for you if you wish? Don't do it! Bumpers will go back on my car at some point!
  15. Of course we mind, if we did not we would not run the meeting! Yes, it starts at 13.00hrs. Sorry Bruce.
  16. Just thought I'd better re-iterate that cars taking part have to be either Triumph or Standard models! Craig: TVRs-er no!
  17. I have a dished Moto Lita in the GT6, really like it. Not a fan of thin original wheels. Nice interior to that mk1 GT6
  18. Graham, I had the Revs on my Gt6 re-furbed about 6 years ago. No lacquer,so just a good polish (Hope Chats ain't reading this) every so often and they look very smart. I'd have a good go at the S wheels with some autosol or similar, bet you'll be surprised.
  19. Anyone know a good wheel restorer in Surrey/Middx/Bucks. I am thinking the cost may well be similar to a new set!
  20. Revs are very nice looking wheels. However, the lacquer they use is not all that good, the 15'' 5 spoke items I have on the saloon look awful now as corrosion has really hit them. Two options to me, either get them re-furbed or stripp them down and have them fully powder coated in satin black. Good luck, Graham.
  21. I have always sparingly used a gasket sealer, no issues at all. Good luck Martin.
  22. Has the head been skimmed (or block decked) and therefore shims inserted under the rocker pedestals to obtain the correct rocker geometry? All sounds a bit weird? I have a silicon one from the states on the saloon, all fine!
  23. My GT6 has one of those BL Works type alloy gear knobs (Fitted to AH 3000 and Triumph 2.5Pi)with a toggle switch for overdrive. Think I got it from Brown and Gammons, various other BMC specialists sell them. The Saloon has a column switch. Like both and can see advantages to each type. Never thought much of the later type of gear knob switch with hollow gear lever-ask Keith Dandridge what he likes!
