price
HI,be looking at fitting a spit mk 3 cam in my 1360, been looking at canles Performance Camshafts reprofile ones on large journal cam, im just wondering how much of an increase it would give in power and torque,or go for something better just wont something good for road , got spitt mk3 dizzy, twin su,s, and a good Exhaust System fitted now. thanks
Clive
That will be an excellent all-rounder. Not too peaky for around town, but a healthy increase.Put it this way, th eherald 13/60 was 60bhp (surprise surprise) and the MK3 spit 75bhp. That is with your current mods plus the cam and (I think) slightly higher compression. Easy enough to get he head skimmed a bit to raise the CR when doing the cam. After taht it is the TR5 cam (or other aftermarket ones) but they are more difficult, but not impossible, to live with.Bear in mind you will need to change needles at the same time ;)

Richard B
;DI think you can get a TR5 profile (or near equivilent) on a 4 pot cam.

James
Go to Newman Cams and get a new one, they can pretty much grind you any profile you want. They are not a lot more expensive and you don't get a naff reprofile but a shiny new cam from a fresh blank.Really good service too.
