Spitfire FD engine

I'm pulling apart a terminally rotten Herald 13/60. The engine is from a Mk3 Spitfire, with the FD prefix, however it's seized. I really don't need another dead engine cluttering the workshop. Before I strip the head and scrap the rest, is there likely to be any interest in this as a complete engine?

I would say that's a block to keep/sell. MkIII Spitfire engines are supposed to rev better than the MkIV 1300 and have the bearings for the cam.  :)

Sure there will be someone who wants it.  :-/

Well on paper it's the most desireable of the lot, but it's rare to find people who actually want a project engine. If it was up and running then no doubt I'd have a queue as long as my arm....

My Mk3 has a Dolomite engine in, but I have a future dream to build a warmed over FD engine running throttle bodies and Megasquirt or similar.

Where are you based?
